About to lose mine too. Granted it's a 95 Z clone.. It's running your Z's struts and springs, must have been a transferred disease *glare*.

I have a replacement 95 metal tank in mine with no issues. Stock pump or IROC. Both are fine.

Not as much progress as I wanted today, but I'll take what I can get here lately.

Removed the old bushings and ball joints from the control arms to get them ready to powder coat, cleaned them up and the subframes, started a pile that needs to go to the powerdercoater (so far it's control arms, subframes, front knuckles, Neon rear disk brackets and shields, rear calipers).

All the parts came in for the rear disk swap. Wilwoods have been ordered, should hopefully arrive in the next couple weeks.

Still need to get to cutting out the rear spring perches and cross member. I dropped off the rust free spring perches to a fab shop to have them bend some plate for me to make new spring perches to use with the 2.5" springs. Those should be ready this week.

Got the old 5spd mount out... this pic reminds me of the pic I took when removing the auto mount.


Started grinding down the old welds, I'll be fixing the dented area towards the bottom right of the picture and cleaning all this up.

The old picture of the auto to manual swap was some time ago! Didn't that auto mount get drilled out at all the spot welds? The one above looks like it was ground out any which way.

I've been trying to spend some alone time with one of my Beretta's.. Seems as if the DD'ers and work fleet want the attention more. Can't blame them since these roads chew threw suspension and steering components left and right.

The auto mount was actually cut out with a grinder; there are still remnants of it that will be removed. The level of professionalism changes over the years; I didn't know anything about spot weld drill bits when I started that project back in the day. Just like when I did the Euro light swap and changed the wiring to get things to work; used dummy bulbs hidden in the trunk first go-round. Later on (as in about 6 years later), I re-pinned the tail light harness and got the appropriate flasher. Young-uns, eh?

I had to cut it up that way to get to some of the welds; I didn't want to cut into the existing "frame rail".

My excuse for lack of more progress doesn't have anything to do with repairing DD's... more along the lines of parental type stuff (homework, feeding baby, cooking dinners, cleaning house, dealing with new puppy... the joys of adulthood!)

I didn't think it was done that way back then. Been a long while since then tho.

Everything got done a lot faster when we were young, even if some of it was ugly! Hahaha

there is some truth to that

Any further progress on this interested in what your doing as far as the rear perches go myself

Does that little spring go in series with the big spring? O_o
I feel like that little spring would be flattened if that's the case.

It's a helper spring - it's sole purpose is to keep the main spring in place when you remove the vehicle weight from the assembly.

When the weight of the vehicle is on it, it will be completely flattened out.
