Hello everyone i used to be a Member about 5 yrs ago. My first car ever was a. 94 beretta base. I loved that car. I was younger didnt really know what i had. End up selling because it started stalling and i didnt know how to fix it. I should have kept it. Ive been looking for one for 3 yrs now. Finally foumd a 89 gt model yesterday bought it on the spot for a couple hundred. Excited but it needs some work. Other than rust what else should i look for before i put any money into it?

How bad is the rust (and I mean everywhere)? How many miles?

"a couple hundred?"

Probably got what you paid for.

Scrap prices are way down unfortunately, so you may actually lose some money on it.

So far i just seen it on the quarter panel driverside. It has 258k miles on it . im towing it to my house this weekend. Had to rent a flatbed. I will put pictures up this weekend of the whole body. The lady ibbought it from said it ran really well but then it started running hot. Instead of trying to figure it out she just let it sit for a few years. I couldn't start it yet because theres no battery. When i check for rust. How bad does it have to be for it to be a lost? Thanks for responding i appreciate it

Never buy a beretta without sticking your head FAR under the back side to inspect for spring perch rust as well as directly under the front rocker area. If you see body rust it's typically a lost cause.

Ouch, that is a ton of miles and way past the need for a timing chain.

Interior doesn't look too bad.
I hope the overheating is something minor like a stuck thermostat and not head gaskets.
Post a pic of the underside rear above the axle. That driver side quarter looks kinda bad.
I hope it works out for you.
