A lot has happened since posting this originally, my 1989 GT is quite mint rust free and OEM so its going to stay like that. The major problem on the car was that it does not have AC. Being a combination of being fat and old, I really enjoy that feature. So I bought another car, with A LOT help from Paul up in Quebec. Guess what it's a 1989 GT in white with 60,000 miles! I really hate white and not sure why all the berettas I have found non-rusty just happen to be white.

I traveled up to Quebec, went to Paul's house and was totally impressed by the car! So right there I knew it was the GTU car. Instead of driving it home as I wanted it to arrive safely, I called a transport company. This is when the problems started. Truck came right to Paul's house, I was so happy to get it loaded and have a trouble free drive home. Then 3 days later I got a call, they "claim" the hood flew up on the highway. An hour after it was picked up, at 60MPH, causing no damage to the windshield or roof. They claim mechanical failure, yet the latch works perfectly. Anyways something very fishy happened. Will update more on that later.

In more exciting news:

On Friday a rusted out 2001 3400 Impala just magically happened to be dropped off in my driveway. So it starts!

1. Remove the stock 2.8 from the new GTU install it in the 1989 GT original car. While its out all new gaskets
2. Send out the 1990 3 speed auto to be rebuilt with new clutches and a shift improvement kit.
3. Remove the 3400 paint it all new gaskets install it into the new GTU car.
4. repaint the GTU car, install body kit and refinished wheels.
5. Hopefully if time allows before before bfest, swap interior for GTZ grey.

Nice pickup!

Although personally, I would keep the blue interior in it; they actually made white GTU's with blue interior and they are RARE as hell. And that interior looks pretty decent!
