I got to drive it to work for a few days. Worked out some bugs. Lots of electrical gremlins. It definitely got a lot of looks.

Clutch started slipping under heavy acceleration in 4th so I went ahead and parked it.

Motor will be pulled after Christmas. Cleaned up and start the turbo project

Electrical issues are the worst, especially tracking them down. They make a tool that makes it much easier, but I forget what it's called lol.

Are you considering upgrading the clutch kit as well, and have you seen Nukkingfutz's quad build on here?

The majority is in the rear around the spring perch. So il dig into it when I do suspension. I didd notice that the door jams have been repaired before. Worst part is the tunnel under the center console. Its gone, but only on the interior side. Under the car you can't tell. Im assuming it was because the leaking sunroof

If you can tackle the rust, the car will live for many, many more years. A lot of people seem to be scared off by it, but I never have been. I recommend POR15 or Eastwood Rust Encapsulator on all of the saveable areas!

Very nice car, glad to see its being saved, sad to see the rust but at least its not that bad from the photos.

What are you planning to use for the rust?
We just started using fluid film, seems to be working for short term, need more time for long term.

Tore the motor down tonight. Goods and bads. Timing housing was broken at the bottom. Most the water jackets were clogged. But everything else in great shape. Test fit the 2.4 head. Looks like only major difference other than chamber size and valves is the slot for the head bolts. 2.3 bolts barely dont fit.
