Cost me $100+shipping to get the CV repaired. They would not warranty any work even though the boot letting moisture in had to have been their fault because it was factory sealed with very low miles. They fucking suck.

Buyer beware: Driveshaft Shop customer service and products are low quality. I no longer recommend them to anyone. Maybe I've just had bad luck with them, but there have been enough issues that I have a hard time believing that.

I was super satisfied with the 80 bucks I spent for 2 OEM gm axles. Haha 3000 clutch dumps later and now another member is still abusing them.

Apparently that is the route I should have gone. I gave away my spare OEM axles to Devon a long time ago, but Shawn is gonna hook me up.

Completely different loads applied to an auto axle vs a manual one... We have a torque converter to absorb all that thrashing.
surprised the converter is still holding up too,,seems like it's getting sloppy in 4th with lockup. the whole thing has taken a beating over the years. trans heats up way quicker than it ever did before.

For today's installment of "What grinds my gears"

Driveshaft Shop apparently required a signature upon delivery. So I came home today ready to install a freshly delivered axle only to get a note on the door that they will try again tomorrow...when I will once again be at work.

I've never understood that; I just had a shipment like that from California. If only I could sit at home all day waiting for deliveries...

Maybe because these are Beretta parts, they think we are on welfare and don't work? lol

Maybe it was the Zip code. Full of scumbags around here...haha

I wrote on the note and left it on the door for when they come back tomorrow "NEED FOR WEEKEND" with my phone number and my work address under the "deliver to a neighbor" option. I know the usual UPS guy and he would have delivered it to my work anyway. He always asks if I want my Summit orders at work or home. Must have had the day off today.

At least the packages make it to your door. I've lost 3 packages to greedy hands at the west Philly post office. One package contained cnc parts that only I know what there for but someone stole them. I guess they liked them because shiny.

Weirdest thing happened tonight...I drove the Beretta and it didnt piss me off! CV repair fixed the issue and it is nice and smooooth. Did some datalogging to get the VE tables perfected and tried a new spark table.

The normal UPS guy showed up at work this morning with the axle laughing that the other guy didnt know where I worked. haha

Uploaded some pics of the recent inner CV repair on the driver's side and the mess that was the outer CV on the pass side. And this latest $125 puts me over $1000 in these axles...with probably less than 5k on them for mileage.

Sounds like a good day woody. Minus the cost and headache.

Off topic, you have a sweet garage. Seen it on another forum searching last week.

Thanks, man. Makes working on the car a lot better than in my old man's crowded garage! haha Putting heat in it this month. Will be even better then.

Heat is a nice thing in out neck of the country. Lol. For now we just have a torpedo. Good enough for occasional work.

There goes another $70. This time it's my fault though. Apparently the axle lock nut has been off too many times to adequately lock still. It loosened a little while I was driving yesterday and I was 10 miles from home when I started to hear a slight hum. Got louder as I got home and the wheel bearing is fucked. Easy fix, but another little annoyance.
