The back wheels are about exactly the same size as the fronts in that pic. People are just used to them being smaller due to perspective. This pic is not distorted and that's what people don't seem to understand. Everyone is just so used to seeing car distorted by perspective.

It's like an early 3D video game that doesn't have perspective correction! The mind recoils in horror!

I started stripping my 17s and found out they're powdercoated, not painted. Holy crap they strip hard. I've used a can of Tal-Strip and still dont have the first one done yet... The clear came off easy, but the black is pretty rugged. I was figuring a week for the whole strip, scuff, paint & clear but it's going to be more than that. I want to get them done as quickly as possible so I can get the Beretta back on the road!

Still gonna be in the 14's

I need to do this to my rims sometime soon... Only a few of them are nasty... But I think mine were painted and now powdercoated... thank god.

Hey, my wheels are 16.5lbs, probably less than your damn rotors!

I thought mine were painted too... but whether they were painted or powdercoated, it's obvious that the finish was baked on.

Your correct if your referring to my Camaro rotors... I have however swapped back to N-body hardware. Still an upgrade over stock, but much less weight.

Picked up some 80-grit glass beads to blast the wheels. I did another coat of stripper on that first wheel with a gasket scraper and got probably 90% of everything... but that's way too much effort. One of my dad's friends has a blast cabinet I can use to strip the wheels good so I'm going to go for it.

Did some research to find the best blasting technique before going to town on them and found most people to not recommend bead blasting aluminum. So... I tried some of our paint stripper from work and got the first one done. Started the second one and the stuff from work doesnt seem to work as well as the Tal-Strip.

Took my babies out of hibernation yesterday, won't be long before they never see this driveway again.

I love fuel injection. I dont think the 3400 even turned a full revolution before it lit. The Camaro on the other hand took about 20 minutes to get that cold-blooded SOB to run. haha Gonna call State Farm tmo to get the Camaro back on the road. I have to wait for the Beretta until the 17s are done with new tires mounted. The junk 15s on it now have bald tires that lose air.

The guy who blasts wheels up here uses crushed walnut shells on aluminum.

He would NEVER use glass!

Heard from a buddy of mine who does body work for a living that POR-15 stripper is amazing. So, now I've got a gallon on the way instead of bead blasting...

Got one done completely with stripper and one with the bead blaster. Blasting is a hell of a lot faster! The POR-Strip is nothing special from what i can see.

I finally got a door panel finished. The cheap carpet stuff from Wal-Mart stretches over complex corners about 100x better than the expensive auto upholstery material...

Stripper doesn't work too well on powder coat as you found out.
