This car is almost always filthy...but the color hides it well! Great color for a daily driver. haha

Got to be one of the best colors for that if not the best! Man my car is so dirty, almost grey right now.

So...I discovered recently that my POS Beretta was leaking water YET AGAIN! This time from the firewall seam where it meets the toe board and the inner fender. I used "3M Heavy Drip Chek" at the advice of a body man back in '09 it already shrunk & cracked. Which I guess will happen with almost all air-dry sealants. So this time I bought the best stuff there is...2-part "3M Heavy Bodied Seam Sealer" that mixes with a special gun. It was $52, but worth every penny if I don't have to do this crap again!
The GM engineering to funnel all the water from the cowl down the firewall into this spot is piss poor, and with my car there were actually no spot welds along a 3" or so section of this seam. And I would guess there is probably a slight amount of flex in that part of the unibody, compounding the problem. So I welded in a little strip of metal and sealed it with this 2k sealer. Checked it on the level and on the incline of my driveway and it's good to go now. I left the carpet out of it and I'm gonna drive it without a carpet for a while next spring just to be sure it's good before I put it all back together. Putting it up for the winter now and getting back to the hot rod project!

I used 3m firewall sealant I got from napa and haven't had any issues yet. I also sprayed it over with Rustoliums version of flex seal then lined the whole bay with spray bed liner.

Yeah, I originally did 3M Drip Chek and then brushable seam sealer, and then primer and paint. This 2k stuff they say should outlast everything...impermeable to fluids and all that jazz. I wonder if part of my issue here was from the master cylinder leaking. I cleaned it all up, but brake fluid is bad for paint and probably sealer too. I wouldn't doubt if it had soaked in some what.

How much for THAT dash faceplate?
Quad redline or no redline and/or Premium Fuel Graphic.
The one on the last post.
I have $100 USD burning a hole in my pocket Woody!
(And it's been a really rough week!)
Cheers
