Tell him Woody sent ya. He gave me a good price because I designed his website, but it is top notch work.

Drove it out of the garage tonight!
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... D=58869960

Have to do a bunch of little things like get the power steering fluid circulating, figure out my squeal (throwout bearing?), figure out why my seat wont lock in position (it slides back and forth when you hit the gas or brake hard) and fix my high idle. That not even including the urethane stuff to paint...

Crunch time!

I just found out today I need to drop my tank on Sunday or monday to inspect my fuel pump and my line... When I engage the nitrous solenoid, jut running fuel right now, bottle off... the fuel pressure drops to like 30 for a split second... but its long enough to make the A/F drop to 16:1 and also feel like the car misses... I have been having "hard" starts, which I think can be due to low fuel FLOW... since I get 60PSI at the rail, and it holds... so its not the pressure regulator... It may be the rubber line I used to connect the pump to the pickup has formed a kink since it did have a lot of pressure on it.... God I hope that's all it is...

If I can't find a problem, I just wont run the nitrous on the dyno. It seems to be perfectly fine n/a at WOT and such, so I can't imagine its a big issue whatever it is.

Oh yeah, On topic...

Get your P/S pump straightened out fluid wise... just go lock to lock time and time again, and check fluid... if its all bubbles, let it settle and then do it again after topping off... the squeal could be coming from that too. Also how old is the AC compressor? the clutch isn't shot is it?

Is your high idle what the chip is set for? or do you have a vac leak?

It's not P/S or A/C clutch, it is clutch related. The pitch changes when engaged & disengaged. I checked the P/S fluid and it was bubbly, so I had a little more dicking around to do with it.

I dont think the chip should be set for a high idle, I can ask Dave. I did look for a vacuum leak and didnt find anything. It could be my crimped EGR tube. I have a block off, but I have to remove the UIM to install it and havent done it yet. The other thing I thought was possible is the IAT from the 95. I will hook up the 91 IAT and see if it makes any difference.

IAT wont affect idle... do you have a vac gauge?

if your p/s fluid is bubbled that's just because there was air in the line, let it settle then refill it and start it again and go lock to lock, you need to work the air out and that's perfectly normal.

Glad I don't have a gay clutch to worry about squealing on me... LOL

Wouldnt it be hilarious if your A/C compressor clutch started squealing today? It would serve you right!

I dont have a vac gauge on this car, but I could grab the one off the Camaro or even maybe a handheld one. How many inches should it read at idle and at what rpm? I could also put some welding vice grips on the flattened EGR tube and see if that helps.

EGR shouldn't do anything since its a vac leak connected to the exhaust or open air really... BUT only when engaged... They don't function at idle unless its broke.

And hey watch it now... you call my 4t60e gay all the time so maybe your squealing bearing is because of that

:runsies:

Vac should be like 22-24 at idle on a stock cam.

So with both gaskets in place, it cant be from a leak at the tube if the EGR solenoid is closed. Ok, damn.

I know my EGR was disabled, but even on I had no tube on it before and it wasn't a vac leak... I just let in fresh air when enabled, which in the end screwed with my fuel trims so I shut it off completely... but they stay shut at idle.

I have 18" at idle. You did put fluid in the trans right?

Yeah, 2 qts of Syncromesh. It could actually use more. It is just under OK on the dipstick.

It doesnt make noise in gear when moving, so I'm thinking TOB. The one I have is brand new from SPEC. I dont know why there would be an issue, but I think that's probably what it is.

I found out today my heater core was leaking when pressurized, so I replaced that. I also got the interior mostly done. It still needs a headliner and the Z04 rear seat upholstery, I just have a base black seat in now.

I still havent figured out why my driver's seat wont lock in place. The pass side does, but the driver seat wont. It's pissin me off. I'm thinking of pulling it out and hitting it with some grease.

All that and there is still a bubble on the dash, what a bummer.

It shouldn't make noise if the clutch is engaged period if thats the cause though.

Pretty sure I figured out the squeal! I have a strong suspicion the throwout bearing just grenaded on me.

I had issues with the clutch not disengaging going up a hill so I tried to bleed the hydraulics. I got a couple bubbles but nothing really to mention. I decided to see if it was an issue just on hills because it acted fine on level ground in the garage. On the 1-2 shift out of the driveway there was a big racket and the clutch pedal gives me a grinding type of feedback when depressed and will not allow me to shift gears. Pulls the car forward when cranking the starter as well.

So out comes the tranny to see what kind of carnage I got. I guess the TOB must have been misaligned (causing the squeal), moved slightly giving me disengagement problems and then KABOOM... FUBAR'd.

I'll report back later.
