OH a suggestion for making the interior SS more factory looking...

It needs that thick coat of clear (plastic or something) on it. IIRC those had a clear coating on them. If that does already my bad.

So I've got most of the urethane BS done. Time to spray it soon!

I also special ordered a clutch fork from CarQuest today... it should be here within a week. AutoPartsGiant.com can go fork themselves.

I knew you wouldn't be able to buy one over the counter... if GM can't get it, and VPI doesn't have a part number dont bother with over the counter stuff.

Have you called VPI?

What is this VPI you speak of?

I think I did find a used one yesterday at the local car show. There was a kid there with a 90 Z24 who said he had a spare trans. He's looking at the fork to be sure it's the same and then shooting me an email so hopefully I can get it from him.

Holy effin shyte I cant believe VPI think that is a $170 part.

Yes I got the PM. Thanks Cliff. I'll call them tomorrow along with these guys: http://www.ringgear.net/vmchk/Clutch-Fo ... flyer.html

I'll be sure to double check that the spinny side of the tob goes on the pressure plate this time. haha

That's one expensive screw up.

Jon, do you have the PN for the Chevrolet decal? If not I should be able to get the # from that dealer.

The chevrolet emblem in the Z04 rear bumper? 10103250

I've always had better luck with my local dealer parts guy ordering the stuff from VPI than me doing it.

No problem, I had my 87-92 P&I guide handy right next to my desk.

Well, I got it for less with the parts guy I know at the local dealer ordering it is what I meant.

Ok the place online is out of stock "for at least 6 weeks". They'll probably never get it.

The dealer you sent me, Cliff, wants $140 for it. I'm thinking I may have to bite the bullet.

This is a time when you need to realize this is a dealer only part... and the dealers don't have it, because VPI bought it.. so your SOL... BUY IT FROM VPI DAMNIT otherwise this will never get finished.
