Re: AERORETTA
Excellent. I'm quite pleased you took our criticism the right way, especially mine. I, too , own a car that's quite different (my GT,see pics below) and has caught alot of crap, some not so fairly stated. So I know your position. But I'm glad you didn't take it personally. I've learned not to as well.Amateur wrote:............

Btw, car looks ftw again!
Re: Chevy Beretta FF
That beretta of yours looks like you put in a good chunk of work to get to that point. I like the fender bulges on it.
I'm a fan those who go off the beaten path and do something different. Something unique to make it there own. For better or for worse, at the end of the day, that car sits in your garage and not anybody else's. Especially if it involves a beretta with a mitsubishi motor transplant.
Yeah Wanako, I've always liked that beretta concept clay model. Wouldn't that be something to have a beretta concept vehicle look-alike. It be an interesting build to say the least, especially since my sister's boyfriend can do metalwork. If it's going to get done, it has to be done right. I wouldn't mind taking it on (if you haven't noticed, I like to occupy my summers doing crazy projects) but nothing will happen until next year at the least: it's going to cost money, time, a donor car (beretta GT would be the best bet IMO) and with college right around the corner=no free time. Its a simple design. The bumper looks to be the hardest part of the build. I guess I'll keep working on my fiberglass skills in the meantime. Another one of my works, I did the Halo ODST chestplate for my brother.

Re: Chevy Beretta FF
ah yes, the famous 4G63 transplant.
Yeah, dude give it a try see what you get. It would be tits if you did get a concept model look-a-like and it would fulfill your wish for a "Aero" look. it's a win win.

Re: Chevy Beretta FF
I managed to find ONE of the E36 headlights I was pillaging for all the way at FEOA.net (Ford Escort Owners Association) of all places. My sister has an escort wagon so I guess that means I'm part of the "club."
In the meantime One does me no good so Down the road I'll pay someone to make the other one. Very simple piece to make IMO. So I procured the following Items:
Bmw E36 normal light (same shape of the the other one obviously)
Plastic so You can cut the design up front
PLUS going to get those mazda Mx-6 lights (need the lights)
In the meantime if someone has the other one, sell it to me. It would save me work. I hate work.

Re: Chevy Beretta FF
Amateur, what you're doing with your car is awesome.
The more you experiment with body work, electrics, and paint you might find you enjoy it and maybe do it as a job for a bit. You're very fortunate that you have the freedom to do and try anything you want. Kudos to you.I don't know what I'm doing with my life or where I'll end up next, but that's the great part about it if you ask me
The concept car looks like the Cavaliers in the late 90's. The Berettas have much more aesthetic character than any other model.Wouldn't that be something to have a beretta concept vehicle look-alike.

Re: Chevy Beretta FF
SGR bought that car in that form for the most part... I do not know how much he's done to it himself but if memory serves me right about 99% of the visual changes done to that car were performed by and old member Gordo. I'm also not sure what the status of that car is now... SGR was supposed to be doing some turbo build with it a few years back but I haven't heard anything since he asked me a question about a trans removal issue he had.Amateur wrote:That beretta of yours looks like you put in a good chunk of work to get to that point. Re: Chevy Beretta FF
I guess SGR's car is flying under the radar, OR just sitting there neglected, alone, and afraid.
(Cue SGR to post on its whereabouts)

Re: Chevy Beretta FF
Im very happy with the changes did to the concept before calling it a beretta.the concept looks really old 80s style. But the thing i like on our cars is that they dont look as old as they are.unlike most cars from that time.

I've always had a soft spot for the Starions. They seem like a mechanical nightmare for maintenance/parts IMO. Still....I like my old Starion ESIR's OEM wide-body fender bulges better! MmmmHmmm
agreed, even the original beretta sketch I'd compare to an 80's Isuzu Impulse JR in terms of design. Albeit the impulse was designed by italian world renowned (automotive hall of fame inductee 2002) designer Giugiaro. I know what you mean by dated looks but it still retains its luster. Wedge shaped beretta, could you imagine?Im very happy with the changes did to the concept before calling it a beretta.the concept looks really old 80s style. Re: Chevy Beretta FF
All my stuff came in the mail today. I call all these goodies my Beretta Track Pack
KYB Gr-2 struts, Gas-a-justs shocks, Polyurethane front bushings:
1.6" front and back lowering springs. I've heard mixed reviews about SPRINT lowering springs, I'll try them for myself and see how they do:
Grant Steering wheel all the way from AUSTRIA, THANK YOU michaelGTZ (real quick shipping!)
Locks so I can finally lock my Retta. (Mine are both busted so everywhere I go it has to stay unlocked, too bad nobody suspects the beretta for pillaging and theft) THANKS DTMACE:
and an Impulse RS hoodscoop. Super rare to find since only 800 of these puppies were imported into us/canada.
All is good in my world.....Anyways I figured that the rs is AWD and has a transmission that can bolt onto the 2.2L L4 directly. that would be the way to go IMO if you wanted to create an AWD beretta.

Re: Chevy Beretta FF
Pontiac 6000 has a AWD trans that bolts to a V6... better option, but both the RS and the Pontiac 6000 are rare so finding these AWD systems are very hard.
Re: Chevy Beretta FF
hahaha, might as well throw that with the lochness monster and bigfootPontiac 6000 has a AWD trans that bolts to a V6... better option, but both the RS and the Pontiac 6000 are rare so finding these AWD systems are very hard.
Rock Auto Rocks for the record-
STILL need a rear sway bar and once I get the engine from Chad91GTZ, I'm putting a fidenza (or stillen) aluminum flywheel and hooking that up with a Geo storm GSI tranny.

Re: Chevy Beretta FF
I like the concept of that... Maybe I'll do that with mine for the 245s so they don't rub on the fenders.Amateur wrote: Fender Bulges FTW!!!
