The strap on the driver side is different. Its too big. You'll want to use both straps from the metal tank. The plugs are the same. The qdc might need a swap, but that's easy.

Yeah I know, I do need to make my sig. Thought I had PS installed on this laptop I bought over Thanksgiving, but I guess I never got around to it. I'll get it done pretty soon.

So today took her to the carwash and vacuumed the hell out of the car and got it 80% passable in my opinion. God this car was even nastier than previously thought. Tootsie roll, hard candy, skittles, suckers, cheap McDonald's toys, etc all over the back floor board. Thought I might not have to yank the carpet, but yeah, def gonna have too. This guy and his kids were first class SLOBS man.....

I got it ALOT cleaner than it was and at least now I can sit in the damn car without feeling like I might catch something! I also gave it a QUICK wash to get the grime, soot, smog and brake dust mostly off. Anything was better than her previous condition. Poor car!

Also, for those wondering , I am not selling my business. That is our other shop we lease and the owner has it up for sale. Not terribly worried it will sell anytime soon as he's asking WAYYY too much money and the realty economy is below sewer level, lol.

Pics, enjoy! They are cell quality so no bitching please. :D

I'll grab some interior pics today.

I agree on the tinted fillers. Was my first thought upon looking at the car. I'm not a clear tails or filler kind of guy at all.

Geoff, that's actually my buddy Jay's truck. I'll tell him you dig it,lol. :D

Pics of the interior. Keep in mind this is not anywhere NEAR my usual standards, but a MAJOR improvement and doable for now compared to it's earlier (as received) condition. That and some Black Ice air freshener and I'm MUCH happier riding in my new money pit. :D

Still fairly chilly , snowy and wet here, so the white crap on the driver's floor mat is from me.

Enjoy.

Good news, good news!! I found SEVERAL places with the fuel tank now. Just needed the correct search term! Found one place with the correct model and year fuel tank for $335 plus shipping. Comes to about $370 shipped. I can live with that! Much better than damn near $600 before shipping! WOOT! :D

Negative. Smoking keeps me free of handcuffs and others out of ICU. :P

I'm a very careful smoker. I know some will argue you can smell the smoke or see the results no matter what, but none of my vehicles are "smoke stained" nor cigarette burned. At least not from me or within my ownership. I got a few with burns.... I smoke with the window DOWN ALWAYS. And this car's resale value really matters not, because barring DESPERATE times, it's going NOWHERE.

All you smell in my cars is Black Ice air freshener. :D

Even had a pretty young lady get in my truck a few months back while giving her and a friend of mine (her boyfriend) a ride home and comment:

"What year is this truck again?" I said an '05, and she said "Wow it still smells like a new truck!". Case in point. :D

So, I dug out my headlights with the rubber water strip around them today. They still look great. I also located a FULL set of clear side markers for the Quasar. Will order those and should get the headlights installed today or tomorrow. Ordered the oil pan gasket which should hopefully seal up any oil leakage for good now. Hoping I don't have to do a timing chain cover. The area the leak is in that's the only other thing it could be....

Will post pics as changes happen.

Thx Rob.

I'm VERY perturbed at this car atm.......

Today ,ran to the casino to get smokes. Pulled in the parking lot, turned off the car, heard the dreaded gurgling of a car backing coolant up out of the cap. Pop hood and look.. Sure as crap... Start car back up...Won't cool below half..... Take it up the road a short ways... Same thing...

Turn it off head into casino, win some money come back out, start it up and pull in the gas station across the street to get fuel and smokes. Looking normal and good. Run home 30 miles, open/shut, open/shut as it should. Get into town, stuck at half. Stop at Vatozone grab a t-stat , seal and new cap. Head to my shop at town speeds. Now opening/closing as it should again.

Put my "new" rubber seal headlights into the car (MAJOR improvement , pics in the next post) and hit up the t-stat housing. MAN , I forgot what a ROYAL PITA these things can be to change the t-stat on. Leaked after finishing the first time, seal got pinched wrong. Pull it back apart, little ATV and putting it back together.... SNAPPPPPP... Housing had a weak spot and broke the front ear off...

VERY COLORFUL language came next...... Came home to look for spare housing I THOUGHT I had laying around...NADA.... So now I gotta wait till tomorrow and hit the JY to find a housing. If I have no luck I may need to get one from someone.....

Not a good night....

Also determined for sure where my oil leaks are. Lower timing chain OUTER cover, and OPSU not properly seated or taped. Should be able to remedy those in the next few days..... I have like 4 sets of timing cover seals sitting in the other room so.....

Hopefully find a new housing tomorrow and reinstall t-stat and other equipment, and cure THAT issue, move on to oil leak , and then fixing gas tank AGAIN until new one gets here.

Man, I think I need to change my SN to Money Pit Beretta 2!!
