Wed, April 27 I was told 1-2 day turnaround time, so I shipped them out the 28th and have been waiting ever since.

That's from using the butt dyno tho right? Mannn your butt dyno must be a heart breaker for numbers.. mine says 565645645 hp and 242432354245 tq at 12.012 ... it's very accurate for projecting numbers ya know!!11!! :D

Whats from using the butt dyno? The 1/4 number? Thats a negative since I have a video of the 12.67 ;) That was with a bottle heated by the sun... we'll see what it does this year with the warmer on it.

I hope to get some dyno numbers too, but as we've always noted, dyno numbers are good for comparison to previous runs on the same dyno, or dialing in something right there... They are not good numbers to prove exact HP due to all the variables with the dyno itself.

I'm hoping its faster this year due to the fact that I have the bottle a bit more controlled temp wise, and I'll have the new LSD so hopefully I'll get better traction off the line. Thats what kept me at 12.67 last year... One tire fire on the left off the line then god who knows what when the nitrous was turned on... LOL

Found my only issue too, I had noticed quite a bit of vibrations on the highway in 4th gear torque lock, so I was trying to figure out what would be causing that... I also heard a clunk 4 days ago and thought I ran over a large rock in the road, but when I heard the same clunk Saturday on my way to my inlaws house and saw something bounce behind me I realized my car was shedding bolts... LOL I completely forgot to tighten the bracket that bolts the tail shaft of the trans to the motor. I ended up loosing one short bolt that goes to the block and one long bolt that goes into the trans. Luckily 2 of the 4 bolts on the diff housing were tight though so no internal trans parts moved. After replacing those two bolts and tightening it up the vibration is now gone... now its just time for me to find the damn reason I get HUGE KR numbers at like 35-40mph in 4th locked... it will pull like 15* of timing but you can't even hear one bit of knock. I'm starting to wonder if maybe my wires are dying and one of the cylinders is not firing at that RPM and causing a knock type sound. I know some GA guys complain about 3400's having a burst KR symptom, but this is BAD... I cant hold a steady throttle without it pulling timing like that. Yet on the highway at speed its fine. ~2600 RPM at 75

Any recommendations on wires I should get? I've been running the Taylor wires, but I've had issues with the plug side the wire pulling out and separating from the plug clip itself, so I've had to rebuild them a few times before.

Are the MSD's better?

I'm still rocking the stock ACDelcos. And they're all numbered which makes assembly a little easier too.

Yeah and a string attaching it to the input shaft so it cant be forgotten either right? LOL

I need a bolt tight check list, or a yellow crayon like those GM assembly techs.

not saying they are better but i have had the same set of wires since the engine went in mine a few years ago. and for the ones who want numbers the msd's come with these little white things that you put on the wires that have numbers on them.

one difference you can notice is the size 8.5mm VS 7mm and of course you can get a couple different colors like red or black.

the only thing i had problems with was the spark plug cracking as you remember but from the wires to the icm has been the same.

i've done that a few times but usually catch it before it sees any sort of prolonged used.

Ok, I may just get the MSD ones to give them a try...

I'm also still trying to seal up my leaks... I found one yesterday which I think is the leak I had the week prior when I had the car out in the rain. Since the drip was coming off the lower pannel where the floor light is I assumed it HAD to be dripping down from the fresh air vent since if it was the cracks on the firewall itself leaking then it would just drip straight down the firewall and into the carpet and not be able to get to the lower pannel. I pulled that and scraped off all the old sealer I had on there and then I put a full wrap on the vent using Butyl Windshield seal rope. I have the car out today in the rain to see if I got it to stop... Honestly though of all things the fresh air vent is SIMPLE to fix compared to a firewall leak :)

good thing with the MSD's is you can make them what ever length you want and really tailor them to how ever you want the wires ran.

i still got the red set of MSD wires i first got when i bought the GA 5yrs ago but since they were getting kinda dirty and impossible to clean i found out that MSD had black wires so i just went with the black ones. i keep the red ones as back ups like when the car goes to the track.

the fresh air vent was one of the things i had sealed up good on my car before i got rid of it. before that you could sit there and watch the water flow like a faucet right over the PCM. i don't think my black Z had the firewall leak but i do know the gray base i had did.

The drip from the fresh air vent is not from the vent, but from the black cowl cover. Water rolls from the windshield and clings under it via surface tension, rolls and drops into the CENTER of the fresh air vent. Putting fresh black dum-dum along the top edge of the black cowl cover where it touches the windsheild will stop water from running underneath it. When I fixed the water leaks in the Aqua DD, I had that new leak and was like WTF a NEW one?! haha :D
