Actually better than ever :) More power without catalytic converter and better sounds too.

Those are three things that make the car more of a joy to drive.

I've got bad results removing the stock 2-cell cat converter from V6, ruined the sound with any muffler I've tried..

Btw if you run rich all the time, you'r injectors are leaking, common for the types gen-2 engine uses.
I got a almost-new set for sale that has about 10 000km on them :)

3100 Gen3 injectors will also run rich on a 3.1 Gen2 engine because higher flow.

Running again.. Only alternator might be broken, when not running, I hear sound from it and battery goes empty.. have to unplug cable from battery always :D Car runs fine when removed catalysator and replaced idle engine.. new rims and tires, pretty hard to find fitting rims.. Image

Is it normal that engine revs only 5000 rpm and no more? Is my v6 dying?

Rare that you should need to rev much beyond that anyway, and the intakes on these older MPFI 2.8s and 3.1s struggle to get enough air into the engine at that RPM. BUT, it should be ABLE to go beyond 5k if asked to. Is it refusing to rev, like it shuts off or bounces off of a rev-limiter, or does it just start losing power and give up? Many of GM's cars have a two-stage limiter depending on if the car is in 'Park or Neutral', or any of the 'Drive' gears (I don't recall if you have the auto or the manual transmission). If your engine is just petering-out around 5k, I would suspect a weak fuel-pump, but you would have to put a pressure gauge on it that you can stick out the back of the hood and watch while driving (in a safe environment, of course). If your engine pulls well at lower RPMs and just dyes out at higher revs, it probably isn't a mechanical problem inside the engine... :good:
