How many of these cars produced?

Yea, unfortunately the base engine for the GTs was the 2.2 in 92 and 93.  However, I've only seen (2) 4 cylinder GTs in my life.  So that leads me to believe that most were optioned up to the 6 cylinder.  As far as actual production of a 3.1 93 GT... that might be tough to find.  I know there are numbers on both amount of certain model, and amout of engines.  But every table on it I've seen curiously doesn't list the engine production numbers for the 2.2 or 3.1 in 1993.  So there's our basis to start.

There were 32,049 Berettas made in 93.  621 of those were Quad gtzs.

So 31,428 is our new number.  Now typically given a couple of years,  The 3.1 usually out numbered the 2.2 by 3 or 4 to 1.  So let's say 70% of the 32.049 were 3.1s, just to give room for error.

That puts us right at 22,000 pretty much once you kill the decimal point.  Unfortunately that's where the information runs out.  If I had to rough guess, I'd say your buddies car is probably 1 of 10,000.  But I'm just pulling that one out my ***, it could be lower or higher for that matter.  You might be able to email GM and find out, tell them you're doing a report for school or something.  Maybe just maybe they'll give you the time of day.

Damn, I'm worn out now.
