Rediculous Gas Price Jump

Post by Mr. Beefy »

I went to one of my offices today at 11am and passed a gas station that had regular for $3.60/gallon. When I left to go home at 4pm... it's now $3.68. ***! 8 cents in 5 hours....... price gouging at it's best

Then I'm glad I'm resurecting the GTZ as a DD. Cant afford to run the truck at like $20 every 3-4 days. And that's only driving ~10 miles a day.

NJ always has cheaper gas than most of the country(go figure but everything else is so damn expensive) $3.60 for regular by my house, 20 miles north $3.68. Once it hits $4..... the truck gets parked, that is..... if the GTZ is done by then cause I'm sure this weekend is going to be the optimal time for the stations to shove it up our ***** without properly lubing up. I bet it'll het $4/gal on Sunday in prep for Monday and the amount of Bennys that come down to the Jersey shore. ÂÂÂ

$4/gal in the truck with a 33 gal tank...... $132
$4/gal in the GTZ with a 14 gal tank......$56
(granted prices will be a little different for the premium fuel but + what? $5-10 per tank?)

Both tanks last about the same milage roughly 300-350

and you all think you got it bad, well try this one, i make 7.15min wage an hour before taxes, and i drive 4 days a week to school and back, wich is 30 miles one way, so thats 60 miles each day, then between going to work,wal-mart,grocerie store, bank, post office, and god knows where the heck else i go...i rack an easy 350 miles a week on my dd, now take that, divide it by 20mpg, then multiply it by our current gas prices... and you will see that with my 2 week paycheck at around 200, i spend 140 in just gas alone, and im suppose to be able to pay for school books and maintain my car, plus my daily eating ect... yea, im at the point were the gas prices are ACTUALLY FORCING ME to get a new job. and maybe even take less classes next semester wich really sux cuz then im at school even longer...

the z26 is on the road!

Ugh... my Beretta gets 5 miles to the dollar... Do that math on your car and dont cringe.
At its peak it gets 8 miles to the dollar. That's an all highway tank of gas.

I just did the conversion on our prices:

Around 9 USD\gallon for low octane and 10 for high octane, and it's going up all the time

I fill up for $130. Also Beretta owner since 2004

Your lucky you don't put on as many miles as us over here... IIRC a lot of your area is closer together making distance driving not a necesity...

And speedy... That just goes to show you that min wage has not kept up with the economy and I'm not surprised by that.
