How much larger is the 3400 TB stock compared to a 1995 3100 TB?? or are they the same size?

I think if it is bigger it is only 55 or 56 mm.  I would go to www.americanpeformanceofcolorado.com and get their 62mm like I have on mine.   I don't know if I have any pics of it I will have to look, but it is an awesome throttle body, and not too darn expensive.

Yep, Timmay is correct... stock 3400 tb is 56mm and capable of being opened to 62 whereas a 3100tb is 52 and can only be opened to 56.

I still don't have a 3400tb for my intake, but when I get one I think I'm gonna get it opened to 58 or 60.

*shrugs*... never seen one opened that far, but I'd heard of it being done.  I could be mistaken, not the first time or last time I'd be wrong about something.

I'm probably gonna keep mine at 58 just to be safe, I don't really wanna go overboard on it.  I may get another and go farther just to see what the results are.  Have to go about getting them one at a time though, still don't have the 1st.

3100 is at 52 mm, 3400s got a 56 mm as everyone else has said. Street Arsenal 3100 TBs are bored to 56 mm.......I believe McGavin Motorsports are also 4 mm over.

Aren't APOC's the same as FDP's?

Oh, if you're doing the new intake swap too there's something you need to know.   You need to grind pockets into the lower intake or your rockers are gonna rub and cause some serious problems.  There's a very long thread about the swap over on the GMForums.  I know I'm glad I read it before I swap mine.

BTW, if you're running a 3400 lower you're also going to need a new upper, the older style uppers will not fit a new lower.

i know all i have is the lower and the TB now i am in the process of looking for an upper, and in that GM forums string it showed that the newer 2000+ intakes already have the spot ground out... so when i get it i'll see if i need to do anything, its from a 2000 venture so the heater core line will also work with what i already have.

http://www1.ecxmall.com/stores/american ... l=12&no=28

This is basically the throttle body I have, only I got it when it was sold through FFP, but I believe these to still be made by the same guy.  This is not a 56 or 52mm TB that has been ported.  To go larger than 59 or 60 they have to totally make a whole new TB.

Well now that I look at that link it is for the 3.1 and 2.8.  Not sure why they took the 3100 and 3400 off the site.  But mine does look VERY similar to that.  Made of aluminum I think, pretty sweet looking under the hood.

Should i go with the 3400 injectors and fuel rail or does that not make a difference?  I'm not sure if they are any larger than the original 3100's
