Okay, I bought some Intrax 2" lowering springs, Monroe Sensatrac Struts all around and was wondering what else I would want to do to better my suspension and handling.  Which front and rear sway-bars do you guys recommend, and any specific length?  I also read I would want to replace all my bushings with poly-urathane or something or other.  Are their any specific bushings I need to know of before I start putting on my struts/springs.  Any specific comany you guys recommend?

Did the car have struts all the way around or did it have shocks in the rear.......Another good bet is the strut tower brace minimal help but may be smart since you are already modifying it.  They rear sway bar is the (went brain dead I think Z51) but look in the FAQ section of the site there is info there.  but with lowering the car and adding the rear sway bar i don't know others have done it but I worry about binding up the rear suspension.  Your choice.

The rear axle changed in 95 so I dont think you'll be able to use the Z51 swaybar.  If you want the best suspension possible then ask Geoff Morrow or Erich.  They know alot more about the 95+ rear axle than I do.

Did it really cahnge Chris.  I did not realize that.  So they could change the rear suspension but could fix the side impact problem.  Doesn't make much sense.

Yep the rears diff in 95. The springs are longer. I think the axle is shaped different.
An addco swaybar can be mounted but I think it needs special hardware. Like Chris said you'll have to ask Heavywoody or Erich. I think Erich knows about which bushings and stuff you can get also. Good luck getting ahold of him...
With those springs you really should have some stiffer struts. But the only ones I know of are the bilsteins Mantapart has. They cost like 650

Well Kory I gave you my knowledge and I found out that I was wrong so I got them started.  Listen to these guys they know what they are talking about.  But no one answered my ques.  Does the car have struts all the way around cause my Retta's got shocks in the back.

All Beretta's had shocks in the rear, that never changed.

As far as using a Z51 bar on a 95 axle, it can be done, you just have to drill two holes in the spring perches to put the mounts onto... you have to do the same for the Addco bar. Adding any bar will help, but if you don't have the money, just get the Z51 bar. You can get greasable bushings from Energy Suspension (I think, it was in Jegs that I saw them). I think someone makes graphite-impregnated bushings (requires no lubrication). The Z51 bar is 21mm, and the Addco one is 26mm... only 5mm, but when you look at the two, the Addco is MUCH beefier...

Front bar, the best you can upgrade to is the 30mm front bar.

As far as the hardware goes, I can't recall where that is gotten from... I have a feeling it's a GM part, but I don't know what car it's for. Addco themselves might even make the mounting brackets...

heavywoody: Do you know what would cause the swaybar ends to slide all the way on one side or the other? I have the Z51 on the old (94) axle. Do I need better (poly) bushings? Or what about the 2 inner mounts.. do I need to move them towards the outside more to keep the bar ends from sliding around? The left side sticks out like 1.5" !

Thanks..

heavywoody

are you happy w/ your suspension for all the money that you've put into it?  I bet you would notice a HUGE difference between stock suspension and what you have

Isaac: Sounds like you need to check the mounts that are on the axle (middle section). They need to be right before the bend in the bar. I had the same problem, and that is what the problem was.

Kory: Yes, there was a HUGE difference in the handling of my car after I got everything put on. I kinda wish I didn't do everything at once, so I would have been able to tell which helped more. I recall the comment from Mike Pride and Cliff Scott, when they were behind me and Pat Boutwell this summer, when we were getting on a ramp on our trip to CanuckFest2001... "That dead sexy car has NO roll!"

And that was with crap tires I can't wait to get my RE730's this spring! WHOO HOO!
