Well, I put my EBC Greenstuff brakes on my car about a month ago and I really don't have too many complaints. ÂÂÂ The braking is definitly noticably different then the stock breaking system. ÂÂÂ I also put KVR drilled/slotted rotors on the same time I replaced the brakes so that may contribute. ÂÂÂ The only problem I personally have is all the black brake dust that the pads leave on my rims. ÂÂÂ It's easy to wipe them off, but they look nasty if you don't. ÂÂÂ I don't know if this is because the breaks and rotors are brand new, but I think I've given them enough time to break in. ÂÂÂ Hope this helps anyone in making a decision about brake upgrades.

I forgot the price, the EBC's ran me $100 even with shipping.

Thanks for your reviews!  I really wanted to hear that since I plan on buying the EBC Greenstuff pads and the KVR slotted rotors this summer.  That was the only bad thing I heard about the EBC Greenstuff pads, was that they gave off ALOT of dust.  How long does it take your front wheels to get dirty?  I use my brakes fairly hard so I would just like to know.  Also, how long do you expect the pads to last?  If I'm gonna pay $100 for pads they better last alot longer than the ones I'm using know which are supposed to be "stronger" and for heavier braking duties.  They last me about 4 months...and although the pads are warranted for life and it just requires me to take in the old pads to Advanced Auto, it still sucks replacing them that often.  I hope the EBC pads work better.

Life span is definitly something I was questioning as well. I figure they must be softer than stock brakes to work better, which would lead me to believe they wear faster. I bought some drilled and slotted rotors through J.C. Whitney (el cheapo), and now I need new pads anyway so an upgrade would be great.

The EBC's are definitely softer.  I've had them for about a month now so I can't really say on the life-span but I'm assuming it's shorter then the average brakepad.  If I don't brake hard it's about 4 days before I need to wipe my rims off again.

You need black GTZ rims. You can never see brake dust on them. Im happy with my $30 performace friction pads.

That's probably an inacurate number, I seem to have trouble keeping track of time, I just wiped my rims so I'll let you know how long before they start to get brake dust again.

I had a major problem with the front pads dusting up my wheels.

I would wash my car, and 2 days after it was washed, the wheels were black. Wait a week and it looked like my WHOLE front wheels were totally painted flat black. And every time I washed my car I would whipe the wheels down, every nook and crany of the wheels. It was so bad I was scrubing the dust off of the tires even!

It was really annoying. I thought it was just the semi-metallic pads I bought (which have a lifetime warenty, they wear out, you get new ones). But I was going through pads super fast....

Then I noticed a weird smell after I would park the car. It smelled like burnt-rubber. Then one day I had the windows down and could smell it really strong. Made me sick almost. When I braked I noticed the right side would sink down and the car go squirly. I knew it was the brakes then.
I got out and touched the wheels. Big Mistake!! OW! that sucker was hot!!!!

The burnt rubber smell was actually hot metal-rotors/etc. The rubber brake hoses were old and had swelled causing a restirction and after you let off the brakes it would still hold pressure in the calipers keeping the brakes on and heating up the components and wearing away the pads.

To fix it:
You will need left & right brake hoses. Then you'll have to bleed the brakes at the calipers after you are done. I had to get new calipers then as the bleeder valves broke off when I turned them hehe.
Don't forget to wash the brake fluid off of your paint when you are done, it eats it!

Now I have new calipers, hoses, rotors, and soon to replace the pads again, and my front wheels DO NOT GET DUSTY!!! I have gone for over 2 weeks not washing the car and the front wheels were still shiny!!!!! I highly recommend you check this out if you have problem with dusting brakes. My hoses were probably still the origninal ones from 1994.

** They were dusting like mad a long time before they made that smell of hot metal BTW. **

I've got that same symptom with the smell.  I will have to check the lines, I guess it's time for stainless steel.

You don't have to get stainless. But you can if you want.
The stock replacements are like 11 bucks I think a side or cheaper. I can't remeber.

I recommend everyone to replace their hoses if they have many miles on them.
Your wheels will stay cleaner, your brakes pads won't wear away in a week, and your car will be faster!!!
