Flooding with fuel

Post by Guest »

I have an 88'GT 2.8L V6. I really like this car but now I can't get it to run. The engine gets immediately flooded with fuel at start up. I have tried a new pressure regulator which didn't change anything. I then installed a used fuel distribution system from a friend(rails, reg&inj for $20 ). Still same problem. I can get the engine to run OK by pinching the fuel supply off and it even revs good, which tells me that computer should be Ok. I can also get it to start for a short bit by disconnecting the fuel injector control plug(main). That tells me that system is no leaking fuel in. I'm sorry I have no codes at this time to help but I would still much appreciate any clues

Thanks

Flooding with fuel

Take the fuel rail out and set it on top of the engine with everything plugged in.  Turn on the key and look for leaky injectors.

You could have a wire in the harness grounded causing the injectors to stay open.
