Turbo compresser map?

I have figured out how to read the compressor map but how do i figure out how fast the turbo is going to be spinning at a certin engine RPM?

technically all you need is a compressor map...how fast the turbo would be spinning @ a certain RPM is negligible and to a point useless to you...with the map you should be able to understand many facets of the unit and the engine which it will be attached to...

im looking at a T-3 trying to figure out what trim. this is what i get from the book i have. If I want more power in the mid-upper rpm range  i just look at the map and pick a turbo with a maximum efficiency point some where in the midrange so it wont get to hot at red line and when cruseing and i have to make a choice between lag and peek torque.
Am I on the right track YES-NO-kinda?

You are absolutely right! you are on the right track...now the rest depends on how and where you will be running the particular car/engine...street/some little track time, solemnly on the street or strictly track??? if you going for the first choice then I will look into getting a little lag, a T3 is cool with a big compressor wheel and a small (note not smallest ) turbine wheel. IMHO for a Qu I will definately go with a t3/t4 hybrid because you can gain a lot at the mid range and top end in particular...cruise speeds will never be affected with this particular unit...you will have to get the right turbine wheel however to bring that boost inertia to par when you let open the throttle. Also because the Qu is more of a winder (although I don't know what particular setup you are using stock/modified config.) you will not get past the peak efficiency island this is also assuming you aren't running high boost...

Read this

This is a compressor map with engine demand lines for a stock 3000 GT. You can see how the turbo is affected by both RPM and boost levels on the same engine. Each engine will have diffrent demad lines as well.
This will help figure out about what your engine will flow.
What engine do you have?
