Buick/pontiac to chevy?

Okay I know that trannys swap between Corsicas, Berettas,etc.. as long as the plug is the same..BUTTTTT??
What abou the Buick-pontiac tranny to chevy..
I ran into the 4cyls being a different bellhousing pattern. Does anyone know about 6Cyl ones?

It depends on the transmission & year, meaning a 4T60E in a 94 gp will replace a 4T60E in a 94-5 beretta/corsica, etc. Earlier cars like in the 80's used a 4 speed like the 4t60e, but they were called a 440T4, which was NOT electric.

Were working with a 91 wagon with 2.8 and i have a resource for good used trannys but the lower mileage ones are in buick centurys and pontiacs... Is there an easy place to look for tranny codes??? :rock:
