Intake placement on a FI car. Does it matter?

Post by Rex 2.0 »

I don't think it does especially since I have methanol injection for cooling. Just wanted some input.

This is what I am planning on doing.

Its not "ideal" but based on your old setup its a hell of a lot better. Plus your hood gives you a little more airspace back there and possibly more air movement.

Yeah I was gonna say the same, but since you are running meth, and have an intercooler it may not affect you as much... But I can only imagine its will get quite warm back there.

Any plans for a blanket for the turbo? or ceramic coating to keep some of that heat out?

I figured it is an improvement over the old setup and between the intercooler and meth I should be fine.

I have been debating between a bag or a shield for a while. They both have pro's and con's. I will probably go with ever I can get cheaper. I also picked up a quad exhaust flange and at some point plan on making a new manifold and getting it coated but that is still a year or two down the line. I need to get a lot better at welding first.
