I would agree with 3X00. Just keep your stock parts for inspection time. I have to put my EGR valve back on before I go in for my emissions tests.

I was planning on buying one in a later time but I just wondering about the smog. I'll just do what you guys recommend and kept the original equipment just for the inspection. Thanks guys.

I'd definitely be interesting in an intake for the Quad if it ever gets made... For years I ran with just a cone filter on the end of my factory airbox-to-TB hose. I used a soup can with both ends cut off as a "coupler"... :) Worked well for many years but there is definitely room for improvement.

I had a short ram intake put on my 94 3100 quickly when the hybrid ghetto stock rubber hose, tape, and spectre filter setup failed. (I bought the car like that). When this was done, The crank case return line was present, but not hooked up to anything really. The new intake has the iat hooked up, but not the crank case return line. Is this ok? Will I experience any problems without it? Also my K&N filter is huge, what is the PN for the smaller one that is available? (The intake pictured below was not purchased from styluss) It runs good with this setup, but I'm just wonderin'.

This should be moved.
Really you need to get a Styluss intake. Ok......what you can do is to move the battery over some. Rotate the intake tube some and then you will gain space.
As for the PCV tube: Styluss makes a hole in the connecter with a rubber grommet. Looks like you don't have room for that. The tube is the fresh air intake and that air should be filtered. That is why it's connected to the engines air intake tube.

People say you're fine without it and people say that you do need it, the crank case return line. I ran my car without it for a while without for a while and had no issues. I can easily sell you just the rubber coupler with a grommet in it so that you can use your current setup and have the return line. As for the filter part number I can dig that up too, but if this one fits just fine, why not use it? Larger filter = more air.

This may be a stupid question but on a warm air intake for a 3.1 what would I do with the mass airflow sensor that's currently in the air filter box?...thanks ..Ben

IN the filter box? Are you sure you're not referring to the IAT? Intake Air Temp sensor.

On the 88 2.8 will the CAI work with BMW headlights (projectors) installed.

Uh, I assume so. I had BMW lights in my car at one point with the intake as well but they were not projectors. You could post a pic of that area and I'm sure I can confirm.

I believe I can still obtain the piping necessary to make these.
