I'm not sure if GM is still doing it, but I know that installing foglights on the 99+ Silverado/Sierras require a reflash of the BCM to operate all the factory equipment.

Luckily, my 2500HD has pretty much all the bells and whistles available to a 2002 truck and came with it already installed, which makes for a very neat looking install of aftermarket lights,

hahaha fog lights install requires BCM reflash? :fool: I don't think that i'll ever get a newer vehicle if everything needs to integrated...

I haven't heard about that...that would be irritating.

So the DR-34s are not available in 5x105 in gunmetal - only silver and matte black. That pic I found is a different pattern.

But...I did find some gunmetals in her pattern by Vision - which is actually the manufacturer of the Summit wheels on my Camaro. I dont like the spokes quite as much as the drags, but I like the center better, and they are a few bucks cheaper. Works for me.

The newer trucks also have VIN locked stereo's that require a reflash when replacing them as well. I don't know if the same thing goes for all of their vehicles but I don't see why they all wouldn't be like this.

Almost all automakers have begun this slow-crawl to insanity, which is why I won't buy a new vehicle because I will have the warranty voided within 6 months for sure. I hate being restricted like that. I've been a tinkerer even before I hit Kindergarten, so I have to pull stuff apart, modify and/or fix them.

People probably said the same thing when we went to fuel injection and the use of ECMs...

By reading those install threads it doesn't sound like you need a re-flash... Though:

"The front fog lamp switch signal circuit is grounded momentarily by pressing the front fog lamp switch. The body control module (BCM) energizes the front fog lamp relay by applying ground to the front fog lamp relay control circuit. When the front fog lamp relay is energized, the relay switch contacts close and battery voltage is applied through the front fog lamp fuse to the front fog lamp supply voltage circuit which illuminates the front fog lamps."

Guess we'll see :D.

Those wheels are tits!

5x105 bolt pattern? WTF was GM thinking... Why make another pattern 5mm different than one they already have!

Yeah, that's stupid. Would be nice if it matched the Beretta. I'm assuming it's because those cars were produced overseas before they came to the US market. Australia I think was the first place as a "Holden Cruze". No matter what continent they are one you'd think 5x100 and 5x115 would have the FWDs covered. Although the 5x4-3/4 RWD pattern is only about 5mm different than the 5x115... Seems like 5x100 5x110 5x120 would be the logical way to do it.

I was hoping it wouldn't be as ridiculous, but I had to throw that info out there, just in case something just as stupid was still happening LOL I'd love to get my hands on a good used TECH-II, but I think i'm better off just buying a custom tuning suite to do most of it and then bypass what I can't tune out.

I really like what you are doing with the car, it's definitely going down the same road I would have taken it. I've been liking the electric blue with everything blacked out and a straight up all black.

Wait till you change the oil in that thing - the cartridge filter is weird.

Ask Kevin.

Yeah, my mom's Slobalt had one.

Hoping to get the tires mounted this week, but the only good tire place is pretty booked and the TPMS sensors haven't come in yet.

Gotta love TPMS... I'm glad that I bought all the tools to activate and change the sensors on my car so I can have two sets of wheels... I bought all the stuff when I had to replace the factory ones and didn't want to deal with a dealer.

There is a how-to on Cruzetalk that doesn't look too bad.

If you want to purchase the reset tool (if you don't have one) https://gmspecialservicetools.spx.com/T ... px?id=5677 $69 isn't terrible. Not great though. I was able to use the previous TPMS tool on non-GM vehicles once I set the vehicle in relearn mode. Not sure if this one will (but I imagine it will..)

I have that tool, or at least a similar one, as far as I know that's how you wake up or turn on new sensors, you still need a way to program the new codes in unless your having a shop do it all.
