Well to be fair Asylum, they would only do what you ask them. To each their own. I particularly don't like Richard, but the show isn't have bad. I much prefer Danny's show. (Counting cars) Danny just seems more laid back, and am actually car person. Where Richard just seems like how much can we make, in the least amount of time, doing the least amount of work. He just doesnt have the passion. Imo

Agreed. I can't get through a whole episode because it annoys me. Which is a good thing actually...because I have too much crap to do to be killing time watching some POS tv show. haha

Fair enough but they will never see anything I own.

I'm paying BIG BUCKS for my car and wouldn't let them near it.

Well, Richard is the drunk. His workers only do what boss man says. What would you think if Aaron and the rest of the workers were the same, but Richard didn't run it? Maybe someone like Jesse James,or chip foose?

Not trying to seem like I'm arguing, just curious. Another thing I don't like about Richard, is he never does any work. Jesse James and Chip Foose actually get involved in their work, and not just bark orders..

Richards shop is in Dallas, Danny's shop is in Vegas. It I agree with what you say.
What about Sue's work?

Chip Foose can have my car anytime he wants. So can Danny at Count's.

I'll trust Smith's for now! http://smithperformance.com

These Texas guys may make for good red neck TV but not for me!!

I have no problem with the shop owner not knowing all the procedures as long as he has the people in place to do the work and know what is expected.

The guy who owns the shop that did my car never got his hands dirty, but he had the right people in place to do it right, and knew what I expected.

Just don't like all the TV Bullshit!

Yeah, I like Count's too. There is a lot of that show that is obviously fake and scripted but it's still fun to see the cars they work on. Plus Danny seems like a cool guy. Seems like a guy you would enjoy working for. Does great work but can have fun and let loose.

I like Aaron on the show, he is the brains of the whole opperation. He, to me seems like a really cool dude, and a really good mechanic/artist. Usually he disagrees with Richards ideas, and gets to do things his way. Richard has the deep pockets to make these projects happen, and yes he is all about just making money. Funny thing is though, if you watch the series, he gets completly screwed over alot, and ends up losing money! Guy never puts his hands on anything they build either.

I've been to Gas Monkey Garage - Aaron is really cool.

Richard is a real dick in real life.

The show is pretty fake - here is Dale Jr's Nomad they said they built in 10 days for him to go on his Nascar break.

Problem is the break in Nascar wasnt until end of July - and this car was there first week of June.

Richard is annoying - but I don't watch it to learn about cars - I watch it and like it for its entertainment.

And there is the Galaxy!!

I understand TV crap. But it is entertaining.

Just wish they wouldn't allow them to do dangerous stuff like cutting springs for all the idiots who watch it to think it's OK.

I'm amazed they let you take pictures!! WOW!

End of rant!!

there was another car they cut the springs on too. forget what it is but i was like damn..

my only other problem with that show or probably Richard is that sometimes they buy cars lowballing the crap out of the price don't do a damn thing to it and then sell it for a crazy amount of money..two things comes to mind was that grateful dead bus and that green trans am. he goes on and on haggling with the people he's buying them from saying they aren't worth much but suddenly he buys it and it becomes gold even though he didn't do a damn thing to it.
