Post by Quad4Z26 »

where is the original Indy beretta located? I know it is in Dayton Ohio but does anybody know where exactly it is? Here for work and would like to see the car and engine. Thank you.

There were three... One is at the Indy museum... they probably will not open the hood since we were there and took pics.... Regarding the two others that had those motors, One went to the winner of that race and another went to GM.... which was sold at Barrett Jackson I want to say 2 yrs ago. Location now unknown.

Only one you may find in Dayton Ohio is a convertible Yellow Indy with a regular 3.1L engine in it that was donated to a school.

The Indy museum in the Speedway?

I went there today and did not see it. Unless I missed it lol!!

Edit: Just saw the video Ryan posted on YouTube and the car is definetely not in the museum. I was there today. They must of moved it somewhere else or to storage.

As Jon said, there is one in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum.

One was given to the winner and Lord knows where that one is, and the third was purchased by Pattison Motorsports (A Canadian Company based in Vancouver B.C.) through Barrett Jackson. It is generally conceded that the car is in California and may be in a storage compound owned by the Petersen Museum.

Pattison is currently liquidating most of it's automotive holdings and the rumour is the Beretta may come up at Barrett Jackson again in the near future. (They paid ~$22,000 for it and the latest info I have is they are looking for $30,000 for it.)

The one you are referring to is an original convertible that was donated to a High School and sat in their Auto Shop/Lobby. Or at least I have been lead to believe.

Well, the Beretta in Indy is no longer there. Atleast it wasn't today.

Museums do tend to change exhibits on a regular basis to reflect what is current and timely.

Did you ask?

The Indy museum has literally dozens of cars, and can't possibly display them all at the same time, and let's be honest, the Beretta is NOT one of it's major attention getters!!

But they will NEVER let it go!

I did not ask, I didn't know it was there. I'm going back tomorrow and I'll ask.

You can build a better motor than that one, as Jon is doing, using parts that aren't 25 years old.

My 3500 with the mods I made was probably a better, more reliable motor than that one was.

FWIW!
