NC road trip to pick up my pickup

$2300 for the truck and $400+ in gas later... I have myself a 94 Chevy Z71 with the 350/4L60E. It's beautiful underneath, with one little spot on the cab corner with rust bubbling.

Drove down Friday starting at 5am and got to Boner's for dinner & went bowling, cause Tiffwad forgot her ID and we couldnt hit the bars. Saturday we went to Concord and grabbed a movie and then dinner at Quaker Steak, which was pretty cool. We gave Boner's number to the cow we had for a waitress and she texted him. I wish those two lovebirds all the best wishes!

Ok here's my stupid question for the day.

Why didn't you just fly down and drive it back?

Had to be less than $400

Registration and inspection purposes, not so easy to get out of state stuff registered for the ride back especially when your not working with someone you know... I'm sure he didn't want to just slap any ole plate on there and get busted on the way back. Also it may need work, I'm not sure though.

I guess I'm the only "Pioneer".

Hop on a plane, fly 3000 miles, jump in a car I have never laid eyes upon in person, and drive it across the country. Not once, Not twice, but THREE TIMES!

However I didn't have paperwork issues.

Nice truck(s) though!

Apparently you have big brass ones, compared to me. With the luck streak I've had this year, there's no way I was going to drive it back. It would have been nice to drive the "SS" down to Charlotte and drive them both home, but having the truck on the trailer was worth the peace of mind. It had been sitting for about a year, which was really the nail in the coffin for any plans to drive it back.

Already bought a new grille for it. (You know I hate chrome.)

That would be a suburban not his truck, but just being used as an example of the grill he bought... Note the mirrors are body color too...

Bingo. And you know those chrome mirrors and bumpers wont be around long either. Also, the grille I bought doesnt have the gay billet fins, it's the stock black fins with the black Suburban surround.

Installed the new grille and fixed the headlight that was broken. Just need to swap out those gay chrome mirrors and it should pass inspection.
