Guess we should have sent him some money to keep the adds off. Too bad there was not a pledge drive.

Re: I see changes happening...
There has been a donate button for over a year..... I've had 2 donations.
The biggest issue is that I am unemployed right now and back in college, so anything to offset is a plus. Don't worry though, I'm not going overboard with the ads. And half of anything that comes in goes to the bfest committee funds.

Ouch. All of us were thinking the samething: someone else will donate.
It did put some fear into me Will. Another site I'm on had one add and now there is more.
At least it's not between the posts, I hate that.

Ads are a simple part of the internet. I don't mind it at all. I would suggest that once in a while you all actually click on it. You don't have to do anything but click it for the positive effects to hit the board. Oh, and donate! $5 here or $10 there means a lot.

I don't agree. Adds are the internet these days. I miss the old days and it's not getting better. Do to adds it takes longer for a page to load than it does to read it on some sites.

Re: I see changes happening...
This shouldn't be one of those cases. Looks like I have a limit on what I can block by category, and I'm limited to 500 url based blocks. If it becomes an issue I will look into it further.

Didn't even notice it until I read this thread. It is not intrusive at all.

That was the plan, its made like $15 since yesterday so if it keeps at around that rate it will fully cover the site, which is a plus right now.
If everyone clicked on 1 ad a day it would be awesome

Hey Will, fix it so the target opens in a new window/tab. Having it navigate away from here is a pain.. lol

shift+click it, I can't change the behavior of the ads

Generally, it is our policy to not allow Google ads to open in a new window. However, in a few markets, including China, we've found that opening ads in a new window better aligns with expected internet behavior and provides a more consistent, intuitive user experience.
Keeping in mind the importance of the user experience, we've enabled Google ads to open in new windows in locations where this is expected browsing behavior. This functionality is determined by the IP of the user, and is not an option you can select your AdSense account.
We also ask that you don't modify the AdSense ad code or alter the result of clicking on an ad on your website, as such behavior violates our program policies.
