Cat to intermediate flange

Post by ifixalot »

Daughters 96 flange joint came apart. I was able to repair. I checked my 96. Not much left, see pic.
There are flange repair pieces on Ebay. Anyone tried any of these? The ones with pipes welded on
might interfere with my after cat oxygen sensor. Then there is the split flanges that bolt together.
I wonder if they are wide enough to go over my rusted flange and bolt up.
Any suggestions?

Yeah you need to have someone who can weld section in new flanges or replace both parts.

I'm going to try a 2 inch stainless butt clamp after cutting off the rusted flange.
I don't trust the pipes they weld onto the flanges offered on Ebay. I think
they might be like the pipes you buy at the auto parts store which rust out
in about a year. One of those rusting away is how I lost my exhaust tips.
