electrical issue

Post by cornfedgtz »

Just aquired a 90 gtz. Voltage meter is constantly jumping, and lights dim and brighten at a rapid rate. Had it tested and there's no amperage for a charge, but I have voltage. If lights could make a noise, it would be wawawawawawawawa! I also have a 95 beretta base with the 3.1. Are these alternators interchangeable?

Not sure how different the 89 / 95 v6's are, but I ran a 2.8 alt in mine for a few days until I was able to warranty out the one in my gtz. The only difference was casings. Everything bolted up, but the plug had to stretch a little to plug in.

My 88 had issues before.. check the f useable links down by the starter you could have a bad one or bad wire/ground somewhere, alternator might not be at fault. but usually when that fuse goes you wont have any ignition power as well i suppose..
