Port Matched 3100

Post by Racing_Rush »

Ok I port matched the upper and lower intake manifolds and it made a heck of a difference.  The throttle body alone was enlargered from 54mm to 57mm and I cleaned up all the restriction of flow.  I am going to get some pictures up as soon as I get the parts cleaned and painted.  The bead blaster I was using worked great  but the compressor was undersized and it took hours just to do a few small parts and the valve covers.  So it would have taken forever to do the intake.

EGR delete possible without a chip?  What are benifits and what are problems?

1991 Cavalier Z24- Racing seats, MSD wires, relocated MSD coils, 2.5" exhaust, ported exhaust manifolds, high volume oil pump, poly grafite front end, 92+ brake upgrade, drilled and slotted rotors, 1.5" lowering, 17" Klasse wheels...

Future Plans: 18's, paint, rear discs, more horsepower...

You'll get a SES light on the EGR unless you have it cleared from the PCM.

Great job!

Is this on a stock 3100. Hmm. I could of done this when I had my lower intake manifold off replacing the gasket for the 2nd time! Oh well I just wanted to get it back on the road.

I'm gonna turn off the PC and force myself to go out in this cold a$$ weather and try to finish fixing my leaks.. ugh...

Ok what is it going to cost me to get rid of this system.  Its gunking up my intake and my valves.  I when I get my rear 3100 manifold I am going to be blocking off the port. and I want to cut off the flange and get it welded up.

So, what did you do now?  you put a 3100 top end on a 3.1?  I thought you had a 3.1. What year is this?

Yup its a 3100/3.1 Hybrid.  More power, low cost (I think it cost me $100 on half price day a pick-your-part)

I have a 92 Corsy GT 3.1L

you should be able to leave the egr plugged in and just lay it off to the side.  plug up the egr hole in the manifolds, both the exhaust and intake
