Rebuilding My '96 Beretta

I'm putting together my Excel sheet to see all I'll need with room for changes. Now I've got a 1996 Base Beretta with the 3100 sfi V6. I plan to swap over to the 3400 V6 (I want a re-manufactured engine and here's one https://www.jegs.com/i/ATK-Engines/059/DCW8/10002/-1). Now the swap guide says get an engine 2000+, now I'm thinking getting a 2004. This crate engine should work right? Another thing I want to reuse parts off the 3100 sfi on the 3400, but are there any parts that you guys would recommend replacing?
Other suggestions wanted;
What type of performance air intake would you guys say to put on?
Planning to replace the front struts, should I lower them a bit or raise them and what brands of struts?
Other things i should do for restoring my beretta?
I'm also curious what problems you guys ran into exactly when swapping engines.
