CORBRETTA is born!

Post by KFLO 93 GT »

Oh man Norm!  That is looking excellent, very clean under its roughed up body.  I hadn't checked this topic for a few days, it really blew up on me.  And I have to admit, I'm loving the C5 in the back of the dumptruck.  I can admittedly see someone hauling a Beretta that way, but I didn't think I'd get to see a Vette hauled like that.

Rock on Norm, this just keeps getting better. ÂÂÂ

As for the tail lights, I got to thinking about it, and I'm leaning towards no for right now.  I'm kind of thinking about selling my old c-10(what they wouldve went in to), and picking up an older mazda b series truck to try to swap an older carb'd 660 and gm tranny in to.  Enough about me though.

It was not supposed to end up like that but it hung too far over the bed.  So we put the tailgate up!  There were only two good lamps.

Stay tuned for more pics!

The ride-line is growing.    If you've help turn a wrench, a special place is held.  Otherwise the line is getting long.

I'll have some more pics posted later.

norm, the car is coming together VERY nicely.....the progress is outstanding. keep it up!!

if you need something, check this site out...its a junkyard, about 20-30 minutes from me, that handles corvettes exclusively! me and a friend swung by there once, and they were offloading a vette that appeared to have NOTHING wrong with it, aside from a pushed in tail...they picked it up off the truck by shoving the forks through the door.

otherwise, very good place to get vette parts... http://www.contemporarycorvette.com/

Suspensions will come when I know the final weight.  If the weight is well off stock C5 at around 3500 lbs. wet I'll need different spring rates and shock valving.  I think the aftermarket stuff will be over sprung and valved for my application.

Contemporary or fparts on ebay buys the cars from the same place I bought mine.  They actually bought the white one that I had highest bid through my auction website.

Definately a good plan!!...are you expecting the weight to be far off? I am ASSuming this will/can be a street car (don't know the laws out there)!?!?!

With roll cage and heavier engine, offset with aluminum subframe and suspension components I don't expect to exceed stock weight of a V6 Beretta.  So, yes there will be quite a difference in weight between the two cars.  Not sure if center of gravity will have an effect on suspension choice or more on stabilizer bars, but I expect it to move upward compared to the C5.
