Re: Tiffwad's Turbo - 2013 Chevy Cruze Eco
So that tool makes it about $200 for TPMS BS. Gay. Set the appt for Friday to get the tires mounted.
And I was annoyed when I saw the diesel was to be revealed a month after we purchased the gas engine...but apparently they are only offering it with an automatic in 2LT trim which means it is over $25k. So the gas engine is still fine by me! haha

TPMS is spendy.. Luckily you have the updated style with the interchangeable rubber stem. The hard stem ones were a lot easier to break (but these updated ones still do if you're not careful..)
The diesel Cruze should be pretty tits. I'd be a bit hesitant to buy the first year model with them though.

I won't even consider it without a standard though.
Had to drive Tiff to work this morning since the Blizzaks aren't mounted yet. Those rock hard Eco tires blow in the slippery stuff.

If you've ever changed a tire on a modern Ford vehicle, you would realize how much nicer the GM TPMS is. The Fords are inside the wheel, made with cheap, thin materials. All it takes is to put pressure on the wrong spot and you bust one off. I busted 2 off my first time changing them. It's alright once you figure it out, but it's still a giant piss-off when you work in a general shop and see different kinds of vehicles.Z26_T wrote:TPMS is spendy.. Yes I have also. As far as I know, nearly all manufacturers now use the two piece sensors like GM. The Ford ones with the big band that wrapped around the wheel were lame. And easy to break.Koots wrote:If you've ever changed a tire on a modern Ford vehicle, you would realize how much nicer the GM TPMS is. The Fords are inside the wheel, made with cheap, thin materials. I'm glad they've changed over, I haven't touched one of those since 2010, so obviously I haven't changed a MODERN Ford tireZ26_T wrote:Yes I have also. To throw the conversation back on topic, I am also very excited to see what the diesel Cruze is all about. 5 years from then, I might actually make a purchase of one LOL
I'm really digging them, overall though. Especially when you make subtle changes to make it not look like the cars everyone else is driving around in.

No, the Camaro is next in line. What do I want more than a turbo on the Beretta? That nasty EFI 383 in the Camaro. haha

I know that feeling and it's what I wanna do with this Corsica. I just gotta wait until I can find something other than this TH125C to go behind it.woody90gtz wrote:I've been driving it the last couple days and it makes me want to boost the Beretta. haha

Re: Tiffwad's Turbo - 2013 Chevy Cruze Eco
There are tons of J,W and N-Body cars around here, so inevitably I will find what I need. Those HM282's sound nice though, if there is such a thing for the 2.2's? I know dingus about the manual transaxles, so It sounds like I have lots of research to do
Plus I've never owned one before and only learned to get from point A to B on friends cars and stuff. So maybe I should put my recently learned auto rebuilding skills to the test and stick with the slushboxes LOL
Anyway, the point is, turbo's are awesome

A 282 for a v6 should fit a 2.2. The bellhousing is the same.

Put her new summer wheels on. Looks a lot better. She's gonna get the windows tinted next.
