What is this part?

The part number is 72891 I cant seem to find it with only that, as you can see from my pictures mine is not in good shape!

That looks like the EVAP purge.

Correct its the Evap solenoid.

ACDELCO Part # 214565 on rockauto.

Thank you! I guess my next question should be would it affect my vacuum for my brakes? I don't have much of a pedal and the car barley stops, I thought it was the booster having issues? I pulled it and haven't replaced it yet because I found this and thought they might be related.

No, not related to brakes. It cannot cause a sufficient vacuum leak to effect the brake booster. It can cause your car to fail emissions tests though. That solenoid is used in I dare say dozens of GM models over the years. They are not notably prone to failure either, so most likely a junk-yard replacement would suit you fine. If it plugs in and mounts up, it will function properly on your car too, so finding a replacement should be easy if you want to save some bucks over new.

When you say you don't have much of a pedal, do you mean it is too stiff and barely moves downward for you, or do you mean it rests really far down already and hits the floor before stopping the car right? How is your engine idle -really high, or normal?
