From what I've read about camshafts and lift, the higher the lift, the further you push your powerband out of the factory range. Our cars shift at 5800 rpm if I remember correctly, so I'm curious, what are the powerbands of the two cams? Naturally, I'd imagine the second cam would push the optimal powerband completely out of our cars RPM range.

Add 1k rpm to that shift point... My peak is 6750... Your car may shift at 5800 but remember what I do with this car.

I didn't know you reprogrammed your shift point, now that makes a little more sense.

I'd stumbled across the cam comparison chart on Wot-Tech's site and had seen the power losses in the lower and mid range RPM's became more evident with each upgrade in cam after the street cams, I figured the relevance in that would also play a factor.

This is true but read what Ben wrote. The xfi has 10 more hp in the mid range and 8 more peak in comparison to the xtreme.

Oh and there aren't many stock values left in my ecu... How do you think I'm doing 12.683@108.9 in the quarter lol

Done... I caved... XFI it is and new valve springs.

Gotta time-sert the rocker threads too... just for an insurance policy. Last thing I need is stripped threads AFTER it's built.

Yes I was running the 26986 springs. I probably will hold onto them for the possibility of building a spare hybrid with what I have left over in parts.

What would u put the spare hybrid in since u have two other berettas u haven't finished parting out??? Or would u just build it and hold for spare if something happens to your current build

It would be exactly what it's called... a spare engine. It wouldn't go into anything unless it's needed. I have no clue how this 3500 is going to hold together and it doesn't hurt to have something on the back burner. I also may never build a spare engine... But it doesn't hurt to have parts that you know work together stashed away in a box somewhere. I was already PM'd on 60 degree asking if I was selling my cam... 2 reasons why I wouldn't.... Sentimental value with what it's done for me as well as I won't sell something that has visual signs of impending failure.

I'm heading into the realm of having many aftermarket parts in an engine and less OE stock stuff so the compatibility or longevity of those parts or part combinations are really unknown so I don't know what to expect with this setup.

I would use keen-serts instead of time-serts

Time-sert has a specific kit for the 3x00 rocker threads and it's the only brand that the machine shop I'm working with has ever used so I don't foresee there being an issue with them.
