200,000 miles

Post by pontiecast »

Well, I finally clicked 200,000 miles on my '94 base. Last week I installed 2 new wheel bearings for the first time. Yup. The originals almost made it to 200,000. Still has the original exhaust, engine and trans too.
200,000 miles may not be that impressive. Cars and trucks hit that mark all the time. What I thought was pretty darn cool is the odometer clicked exactly 200,000 miles in the parking lot of the original selling dealership. I tried to plan it that way but I never thought I would hit it right on the mark.

That is unusual to make it exactly 200k in the dealer's lot.
Front hubs on my 93 mini van gave out at 130K. Amazing you
got 200k. Original engine, trans and exhaust too?
You must have been doing a lot of things right.

Not sure what I did right....must be luck! That was until last week. Decided to do a tune up and broke the spark plug off at the nut. Can't get it out. May have to remove the head.

So it broke off at the hex part of the plug? And just the threads are stuck inside the head?
That sucks. Is it on the rear head? If you can get at it, you could heat the heck out of it with
a propane torch and try an easy out.
Heat will make it all expand and contract and may loosen the threads.
