Are the 88-90 instrument clusters engine specific or can a V6 cluster be swapped into a car that has a four cylinder?

nope, v6 cannot work with 4 cyclendar. the speedo and tach will be off considerably.
i was hoping to find a switch to select between 4/6 cyl, some clusters have 'em, but ours do not. that blows.
there is also a sticker on the end of the cluster that specifies whether is was calibrated for a 4 or 6 cyl.
