My caravan I bought was pretty painless. I did have to have a paper from a dealer stating that it met US state emissions. And that the vehicle was "fit" per Canadian DOT. His will be, as long as the plates are valid. You cannot have valid plates if the vehicle is not fit.

Yes there will be taxes on the amount you report that you paid for the vehicle. That is standard on any state in the US no matter where the vehicle is bought from.

Border protection will do a simple examination of the vehicle when it is brought through the border. BE SURE to have all the paper work prepared and ready with you before bringing it through. Call the border and ask if you want details etc.

You do NOT have to deal with the Canadian border regarding exporting unless you buy the vehicle from a dealership.

So seriously, its not a big deal. Hardest thing to do is make sure you get the statement (declaration) of conformity with US emissions from a dealership.

The 3500 is a Canadian car licensed in Ontario. My Quad GTZ is still registered in California at my daughter's address. The V6 GTZ is now being driven by her in Cali. and I have no further interest in it.

Well here's an update.
Car is now at my home in the driveway.
Started right up after sitting all winter, in fact since we returned from NE.
I had forgotten how much fun this puppy is to drive.

SOMEBODY BUY THIS THING BEFORE I CHANGE MY BLOODY MIND!!
