Beretta Fest 2012 Kansas City Proposal
Beretta Fest 2012 Kansas City Proposal
Kansas City June 21st to 24th 2012 Proposal
Kansas City is a metropolis that rests in Missouri and Kansas. It is the City of Fountains, Parks and Boulevards as it has over 40 municipal fountains all through it. No driving to any event would be greater than 30 minutes. Kansas City is home to the World War I national museum and monument. This is worth going to and is impressive for any age for a day activity. Being a train town it has a large historical train station in the same area often with exhibits. Kansas City has well respected American BBQ and some of the best in the world. Arthur Bryants, Gates, and Jack Stack make this a BBQ destination. There is a ¼ mile drag strip not far from our event. There is some overlap for example. Racers would leave WWI museum to get and prep their cars to begin at 6pm at the track. I chose Boulevard brewery tour as a starting point. This is a respected regional brew and is available in many markets outside KC. Power and Light District is a lot of fun to go out. There are many classy and relaxing outdoor bars, clubs for an event like ours to be rather social. There is parking. There is the more amusement style of Power and Light or the classy urban area of Westport. There is a GM auto plant in KC where the new Malibu will be built. There is no schedule yet for any tours for 2012. There may be an opportunity to get a tour planned. Saddlers a high speed Indoor racing is near. These are the 45mph karts with similar pricing to past years.
Hotel/Accomidations
The potential hotel is right smack in the city. It is a nice modernized hotel and top rated. The hotel has offered to block off an area on the street for trucks and trailered vehicles. There is a parking lot in which we could safely park cars as well. The group rate is $109 a room. It comes with 3 free drinks and breakfast. For those who may bring their mate(wife or girlfriend), and they may want to take advantage of the adjoining spa You may also leave the hotel and cruise the Boulevard. Cruising is popular in this area of the city. It felt safe and secure while I was there.

The 1/4 mile NHRA Track is 20 miles...or 30min from hotel. The potential picnic area's are no further than 20 miles. Most attractions can be walked to or not far by car.

Would be nice to have some track time though.

Scheduled for Friday night. People racing would need to get back to the cars by 4 probably. The track is 20 miles away. There is no 2 hour drive here for a 1/8 mile track!Money pit Beretta wrote:You know I have to back this!

It was a 1/4 when I was young. Something that would be a bit much would be a spin around the speedway. I don't see them allowing more than one car on the track at a time, but could let all of them on for a photo shoot. Where are the Indy's?

Erich if you typed all of that, it was very hard to read and understand at points.
"Kansas City is has General Motors builds cars in Kansas City."
I see your wrote that they will tape off a place for trucks and trailers. What about the cars? Room to park 40 cars without paying?

Mark, its a pain to edit with approvals. I see a lot of errors. I have done my homework on Kansas City.
I have been to every Beretta fest since 2000 and this one would work well. The National WW1 museum is more than one would expect. The drag strip is 20 miles away and a 1/4 mile NHRA. You get the KC BBQ experience. Its the only proposal truly centrally located in the USA. The hotel proposed is nice and in Westport and gives this group plenty of places to socialize and they could work with our car group.

Fix the errors I'll approve it if its necessary, but I dont remember edits having to be approved.
Re: Beretta Fest 2012 Kansas City Proposal
If you need any opinions on anything Eric, let me know. I really don't follow the community at all anymore but I still chat with a few folks off of facebook. A few suggestions I would have would be dropping Shitterbahn(as we locals call it) and doing worlds of fun/oceans of fun instead. That water park is pretty hood rat, if you get my drift. The Boulevard tour is great, I have been on it a few times. Nowhere as big as the one we did with Miller in Milwaukee but it is still pretty cool.
Some other things I would suggest/add:
We have a really great zoo here, I know quite a few went with us to the memphis zoo so I know some people like that stuff.
Ameristar Casino, great restaurants and a lot of fun for the gamblers out there.
Truman Library goes well with the WW1 museum for history buffs. Like Eric said, the WW1 Museum is pretty amazing if you are into that kind of stuff.
There is also a harley davidson factory that does tours.
Kcir is very strict on nhra rules, main thing to remember everyone racing HAS to have a helmet.
Typed this out on my phone so sorry if its kind of jumbly, let me know if I can do anything to help.

There is an increasing amount of family activity to Berettafest. I added the "Shiterbahn" as an alternative to a a brewery tour/kart racing for them. The zoo might work too. I didn't know about the Helmet rule at KCIR. I will have to check on that and what certification of helmet is required.

Paintgod is from KC. He has been around the Beretta groups for a long time. A few of us have partied with him at Bfest and Bonerfest.

Re: Beretta Fest 2012 Kansas City Proposal
Oh man, I found my old sign on info. I moved out of the city after college a few years ago and I am in Grain Valley presently. I probably couldn't meet up during the week due to work but I would be down for friday and saturday get togethers. Haven't driven a Beretta since I traded in the Z for cash for clunkers for my truck a year or so ago. It was sitting in my garage gathering dust since I just cruised my company car. Still ran like a champ with 76k on it But yeah anyways, if you need any opinions or whatever let me know if I can help.
