A 91-93 V6 Auto would be a true GTZ too. Just saying. It's a styling/Interior/suspension package not a specific engine/trans package.1990BerettaGTZ2.3L wrote: Oh and I already asked it is a quad car so it's a true gtz

Re: White 1991 GTZ $900
...Well yeah, but other than a conversion (and the VIN wouldn't match if it wasn't originally a Quad car), what other Berettas were offered with the Quad in '91? None. I think that is what he meant. The Quad GTZs (and your very cool, let's face it, almost mythical Quad Z) were the only truly un-clonable Berettas, because they were the only ones offered with the Quad. I love my GTU, and I whole-heartedly believe that it is a true GTU, right down to the C&C sticker in the trunk, but it could have been a GT cloned into a GTU,and I would have no way of telling, even after decoding the VIN and reading through the RPO sticker. Actually, I think the '90 Indys are unclonable too, as the FE7 suspension wasn't available on any other V-6 cars in 1990, please correct me if I am wrong. But you would have to look at the RPO, not just the VIN, to tell that...scd88ga wrote:A 91-93 V6 Auto would be a true GTZ too. Just saying. You're correct on your assumption of the INDY specific FE7 RPO's for a 1990 GT V6 car. But the same would also apply for your GTU and it's GTU specific RPO for the suspension. But I have read that not all GTU's came stock with the Z51? Aside from the suspension RPO for the GTU, I don't think there are any other RPO's that would be GTU specific and the 3 colors offered aren't GTU specific either. The yellow was specific to the Indy's for 90, but the turquoise was not. GM should have just done all that crap in house and saved us the trouble by having the options on the OEM sticker! lol

Brett,
This is in some PDF file I saved from online. It has RPO codes up the ying yag. Anyone with a GTU should see if BBA is on the list:
BBA 88-89 Beretta GTU package
BBC 88-88 Corsica XT package

...It wasn't an assumption, I just wasn't sure that I remembered it right, but thanks for the confirmation.scd88ga wrote: You're correct on your assumption of the INDY specific FE7 RPO's for a 1990 GT V6 car. Z51 was an '88 only deal, was not available in '89 at all to my knowledge (my GTU is an '89, and came with the FE3, Level 3 Performance Suspension, like all the other '89 GTUs, -now I am assuming- and the '89 GTs). Worse, in '88, the GTs also had the Z51 as an option, and both of the Z51 sway-bar sets I have came from GTs, not GTUs. BTW, although it is 'common knowledge' that the FE3 front sway-bar and the Z51 front sway-bar were 'the same', I put a caliper on mine, and the FE3 sway measured 1mm smaller diameter than the Z51, at least mine did...). My GTU now has the +1mm Z51 front sway, and both the Z51 and FE3 rears, my '90 turbo is an F40 'Heavy Duty Suspension' package, and is slotted to receive the other Z51 rear sway as a piggy-back, IIRC the front was "only" 28mm diameter, so it got the other Z51 front sway I had to upgrade it.
I checked the code list, BBA is on it on my '89 GTU. I decoded all of the RPOs back when "comp nine" first started up, but I don't recall BBA specifically, and there weren't any GTU specific codes, since C&C did the conversions to GT models, but there were a few codes "comp nine" didn't recognize. Are you saying BBA is a GTU specific RPO?wi_corsica wrote:Brett,

Re: White 1991 GTZ $900
Interesting stuff wi_corsica and Rettax3! I just go off the top of my head with what I've learned from doing a little research here and there and I try to take in a remember as much as I can. Seeing that I'm a parts guy, that's how I tend to view cars, as parts instead of a whole! I'm always excited to find some new info to stuff into my brain! lol ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)
