what back spacing would I want for a 8 inch wide rim.

Stock offset is 42mm.  Knowing that, finding a rim of that offset & a width of 8" is going to be hard.  You have to be cautious of rubbing the shock and inner wheel well.  Why not run a slightly wider tire?

I am looking into having a couple 8 inch rims made.

I have 195/60/15's on a 6 inch rim......I would be interested to find some "stock" 7 inch rims but have not had any luck.

I think the stock crosslaces are 7.5, not sure.  Altough they are 16" so that might not be what you're looking for.

yes, I need 15's...rules state that is maximum.

are these "crosslacing" steel or aluminum?

What about the Z-51 steel wheels? those are 15x7 I think, you might want to look into those.

The factory steel 15s (all) are 6.5" wide
