How do i check for vacoom leaks??

vacuum leaks will often give a high idle syptom, but to check for them you will need to first visually inspect all the vacuum lines--if all looks god i will take a can of carb spray and with the engine running spray the carb spray around the lines and intake manifold gaskets listening for a change in the idle speed and quality--you will know it when you hear it. You can also use a can of propane like for a porpane torch with a hose hooked to the end of it--turn the valve on slightly and just run the end of the hose by the vacuum lines and intake gaskets--you will also notice an change in idle speed or quality if you indeed you do have a vaccum leak--just don't blow yourself up getting silly with either method...like spraying carb spray on the exhaust, or cranking the propane valve wide open and you passing out from the fumes!
