I have always for some reason thought that the 3100 had 16# fuel injectors and the 3400 (96-99) had 19# but after looking into this for nearly a whole day (im not kidding ) I found that 3400swap.com and Accel list the 3100s as 17# and mcgavin has them listed as 17.6# while the only place that has the 3400 listed is 3400swap.com and they say 19#. I would really like to know the actual ratings so I dont have to pull these things out and flow them. The 3100 injectors wouldnt be so hard since I have my fuel rail out but the 3400 would be as I dont have any. Any info is much appreciated. The part # for the 3400 injector is 17113573 and for the 3100 is 17113572. they are a whopping one number off.

maybe they offered 2 different kind of injectors over the years of the 3400? The backyard mechanic in me wants to tell you "who gives a rats *** about one or two pounds difference in rating?"
My 3400 runs strong on 17lb injectors @80psi that were in the 3100 originally. I think the 3.1 had 16s. The 3100 has 17s. I'm not sure where I got the 17.6 number from. I always thought they were just 17s.

3400's got the multec II's in 2000+ (along with 3100's) and they flowed more. Its really not worth your money to upgrade to any stock injector. Like Mcgavin says, its a very small difference.
You plan on cranking the fuel pressure anyway, so just rely on that for the flow you'll require.

The life of a stock pump will not last long under constant high pressure.
Minds well upgrade to walbro.
