2012 BerettaFest Car Show Classing

Post by quad4berettagtz »

With BerettaFest LESS that ONE WEEK away I wanted to be sure to post up our "newly" edited Car Show Classing based on our meeting at the 2011 picnic!

Most classes are staying put, however we did split the Engine Bay class, and there are new guidelines for both INTERIOR and EXTERIOR classes!

PLEASE READ!

BerettaFest Car Show Class Rules - 2012

Available Classes:
-Best of BerettaFest
-Stock Exterior
-Custom Exterior
-Stock Interior ’88-’90
-Custom Interior ’88-90
-Stock Interior ’91-’96
-Custom Interior ’91-‘96
-Stock Engine Bay
-Modified Engine Bay

Stock Class
-Stock classing is to mean that, within reason, that a car participating in the stock class has OEM components in use, or their direct replacement except where aftermarket additions or replacements are allowed below.

Stock Interior:

-All interior panels and seats MUST be from the “generation” that your car was originally (i.e.- a ’94 Z26 with a 5 spd swap is allowed a stock console and shifter swap with a ’92 GT because they are the same style interior. A ’90 GTZ with a ’92 interior swap however would NOT be considered stock) *Voted NEW from 2011 Picnic
-Speedhut dash overlays will kick you into custom, even if stock in appearance.

Stock Exterior:

-Paint must be of original color code to be stock. Any repainting that is a different color than offered in that model year, plus any customization like airbrushing, will kick you into custom class.
-Rear filler panels MUST be correct for your model/year, so ‘88-‘93 must be clear and ‘94-‘96 can be black to be stock.
-Stock exterior swaps are allowed. (Euro swaps, Z04 conversions on base models, GTU kits, rims from other models of Beretta’s, etc.) *Voted NEW from 2011 Picnic
-Removal of side “bump guard” molding is considered CUSTOM. *Voted NEW from 2011 Picnic

-Allowable upgrades (Interior/Exterior):

-Aftermarket stereo head units and speakers: we do not expect you to have to take out an aftermarket unit and put in the stock unit to be in stock, and speakers can be replaced as long as the original mounting points are used and the interior appearance is unaltered.
-“Aftermarket” sunroofs: if it was installed by the dealer, or before you bought the car this will still be allowed for stock
-Tire sizes other than stock. ie: if 225/50's are on stock 16 in. rims when 205/55's were OEM, you will still be allowed in stock. The basic rule is as long as it fits on the OEM rims, you will be fine.
-Window tinting will be allowed. We are all just protecting our interiors, right?
-Replacement carpets will be allowed, as long as they are a good attempt at matching the OEM color.
-Vinyl stickers are allowed, as long as they are on the glass of the car.
-Under the “stock swap” provision, stock rims are allowed in stock class from any year/model of Beretta. Aftermarket rims will move you to custom class however!
Custom Class
-For the most part, custom class is simply the opposite of the above described Stock classing.

NEW CLASS – Stock vs. Custom Engine Bay *Voted NEW from 2011 Picnic
-“Best Engine Bay” will now be divided into “Best Stock” and “Best Modified”.
-Stock engine bay:
-MUST have original engine/transmission combination
-Stock is ALLOWED:
-CAI/Cone Filter
-Strut tower brace
-Modified engine bay:
-Any engine/transmission swaps are modified.
-Any “power adders”, even to a stock engine, is modified.
-Original engine/transmission combo that has had extensive polishing/painting/performance modifications (like headers, etc.) is modified.

If you have modifications that are not listed above for any interior/exterior/engine bay class, or have any questions on any of the classing rules, please ask ANY committee member.

The committee will vote on any modifications not listed, or that are in question. The committee’s vote will be final and added to next years rules list.

ALL DISPUTES MUST BE BROUGHT UP TO THE COMMITTEE BEFORE VOTING STARTS!!! This will give us time to correct the error so that the vote is the most accurate!

Thank You!
