most of the early abs systems needed a scanner to bled them corectly..  the motor cycles the valves and good bye old fluid..

Also check your coil towers for junk on them.  a brass wire brush works well.  make shure to lube everything well..

Did you have any of the shops check to see if its charged with the proper amount of R-12/R-134.
If the system is low on fridgerent it wont be cold and the pump wont cycle properly..

What a idea gm had a???   something abought warming the tb would warm the air gowing in to the engine making it run better better fuel combustion  or some crap.
though air planes with carbs do have heaters in them so they dont freeze up..

U may have a pluged injector filter or a injector thats taking a crap.  seen a few of 2.0 injectors  just not spray right when they get older..  also check your tps sensor to make shur its reading correctly..

the egr code is a funny thing.  try to clean it an the tube an see if its better..  do you let your car coast at or above 35mph??? like comming to a stop sign?  if you do it can set a code with pre obd2 cars 94 an older..  some thing with a low o2 count in pindle #3.  u could try a new/updated one i...

some of the 2.8 an 4.3 had a special maf relearn or reflash of your ecm to new specs.  But i havnt seen or done one in years

I dont think the lower intake has to be pulled to remove the front cover though i do think the pan does..
make shure to tq the bolts so u dont have any leaks down the road..
