Re: Strut assembly help
The ones with the longer top were only 87-91. The 92-96 are the same in that respect.

Re: Strut assembly help
Ok I miss understood your last statement with Cliff questioning my plan, and yeah that spacer is mostly specific to 95+ as well as the upper mount is also different. I never realized there were 3 different mounts, but only two different struts... The 87-91 all metal with integrated bearing. http://...

Re: 88 2.8 sputters and shuts off
I'd also check the resistance on the fuel injectors to make sure that one of them didn't develop an internal short. I experienced these symptoms many times on my 2.8 because of this.

Re: Photoshop Request
Here's the placement on the C4 GS just for reference.. It's obvious the measurements don't mean much, but the proportions and centering may help.

Re: GTU/Indy wheels
Actually no, It's the guy who Ken was getting them from. His name is Don I believe. They were about $400 for the set and I picked them up. New no tires ever mounted but some slight chipping, etc just from being stacked up without any protection between.

I picked up a nice set from a guy in Michigan just north of Detroit. He doesn't take Paypal though.

Re: Intermediate shaft/jack-shaft
That aluminum housed one also uses a weak aluminum bracket to attach to the block. I have fount many of them are cracked. Yes there is a bare shaft with a stamped steel bracket. I have found this on both berettas and j-bodies. It is better than the aluminum housing one but not as nice as that cast ...

Re: Intermediate shaft/jack-shaft
There should be some of Brian's in the Bfest pictures, unless you're specifically looking for a V6 one.

Re: Anyone have ideas on fitting wide wheels????
The wheel alignment was totally jacked at this point... The rear still has 225/45R17 with +12.7mm more offset than the front. http://home.comcast.net/~Cliff_Scott/C5/images/IMG_0084.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~Cliff_Scott/C5/images/IMG_0085.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~Cliff_Scott/C5/images/IMG_008...

Re: Anyone have ideas on fitting wide wheels????
Why not just get a set of factory Audi wheels that bolt right on?
For what it's worth, the front wheels on my GT are 17x8.5 and effectively +22mm offset (wheel is +60 with a 38mm spacer)

Re: Intermediate shaft/jack-shaft
I think that aluminum-cased intermediate shaft which has a stamped aluminum bracket to the block was for 87-89.
