Nightmare Problem....
After a few minutes, the car no longer ran correctly again! I yanked the car and sent it to another tech in the area. This guy located the problem in 30 minutes! There was a faulty injector that was causing a short in the injector harness. Just swapped in another injector that I had laying around a...

OHHH KAAYYY Well the car ran beautiful this evening. Barked the tires into second gear and everything! Changed the crank position sensor and it did the trick. The old one tested good and everything but the change when the new one went in was great.... The car still ran like hell until I swapped into...

They were slightly used out of a running car. I did throw an ohmmeter through them and they checked identically.

Hey guys I'm posting here in hopes that someone has a helpful tip. As of right now, I can tell that the 1st and 4th cylinders are not fiing due to the exhaust runners not getting hot. Also the new plugs in those cylinders were also clean after a few startups but we'll get to that. OK... Heres the ...

Tuning a 89-91 Quad 4 ECM...
www.tunercat.com I spent some time with the people at Tunercat and they were able to complete the definition files for the 89-91 LGO Quad 4. Who needs HP Tuners? Search for supported cars and scroll all the way to the bottom. You 2.0 guys may be able to use the cavalier definition if you do an ECM s...

Cam overlap on a boosted setup...
http://www.drivingsports.com/a/templates/ds.aspx?a=53&z=5&page=2 The suburu guys spool it at about 2900 RPM. I'm hoping for 2500 rpm, but more lag will probably end up giving me more traction. Rex, didn't your cams much more lift as well? mine are 226 degree .410 lift (similar to stock). Y...

Thanks for the tips guys. Well I'm advancing the intake cam 4* to cut a bit of overlap out. Honestly though, I've read alot into overlap and boosted setups, and there are positives and negatives. I'm going to keep them for the fact that they are unique. Overlap can cool cylinders off as well... th...

Ecotec
There are hardly any aftermarket for the N/A 2.2 Liter Ecotec. The way the engine senses the cam position is a bit advanced for aftermarket ECU's as of right now. I know theres ways around it, but there have been alot of headaches trying to get those engines running with a serious engine management ...

Cam overlap on a boosted setup...
15 lbs through a GT3255E. I'm running the 226 degree/.410 lift cams right now with the stock cam sprockets. The setup is still very much streetable, it does however require the 92 getrag swap. The gear spacing from 2nd to 3rd with the higher powerband is like a kick to the teeth. Even more so than...

Cam overlap on a boosted setup...
Hey guys have a question: If one were to be running W41 or 226 degree cams, what kind of advance/retard would be best for a turbocharged setup? 4 degree retard on the exhaust, and 4 degree advance on the intake? or the other way around: 4 degree advance on the exhaust and 4 degree retard on the inta...

I would think that camming the 3.8 for higher RPM horsepower would be a good solution for controlling traction issues.
maybe there should be a FAQ so people can consolidate this info.
