Just got off the phone with the transmission shop, he told me it needs to be rebuilt gave me a quote for $1500 to $1800.
I'm totally screwed, and have no idea what I'm going to do.

.060, I would also recomend getting AC Delco Platinum plugs. It came with platinum plugs from the factory.

If the car you're talking about is your 96 it is more than likely the oil pressure sending unit. Its on the front of the block in between the oil filter and stater. My car did the same exact thing when mine took a dump. Make sure you ask for the one for WITH the gauge. Its a different unit depending...

Are you familiar with Bench Bleeding? You need to take the whole setup, resevior and all out and bench bleed it. Good luck with it, its a real fun job.

Depends on a lot of factors: 1. Do you have the car titled in your name already, or will you be registering it under someone elses title? 2. Insurance? Is the car insured, if its not you will need to have it insured and proof of insurance before you even go to the DMV, a first payment can be pricey....

Mine quit at around 101k, so I would say yes. It gradually lost the ability to hold and show pressure on the gauge, then just started leaking all the time and gave a reading of zero. Have fun getting to it.
