Re: 2.2 Turbo, 2.3L Swap or 3.1 Rebuild/Swap?

No worries on derailing any of my threads, I just wanted to clear up any confusion WOTTECH may have had in mine and yours' post.

WTB: Front and Rear Sway Bars (95' Corsica)

I'm looking for upgrades to my stock 2.2L sway bar in the front and a good sway bar for the rear,

Anyone got anything for a decent price and don't mind jamming both into one box, then sending it to some dark recess of North America known as Labrador?

Re: 2.2 Turbo, 2.3L Swap or 3.1 Rebuild/Swap?

a throttle body on a 2.2 is very different than comparing the gen 2 to the gen 3 in a light that makes that gen 2 look more efficient. Its not. A 2.2 throttle body means practically not a damn thing if you boost it. You will break that motor before you find the limits to the throttle body. I've pre...

Re: My sad day

I won't be driving anywhere in the car without a toolbox and some random fluids and parts. My old Civic used to barely have room for anything in the trunk with my old toolbox in it. I could stuff some fluid bottles around it and a jug of coolant could fit in as well. So I think the Moogs might be ri...

Re: What more can i do to my motor

Ye Olde Scavenging Effect, the unsung hero of the 4 stroke engine :D

I spent a lot of time and work trying to eek out as much performance as I could out the 2.2L I was building, only to end up building towards a turbo.

Re: 2.2 Turbo, 2.3L Swap or 3.1 Rebuild/Swap?

How does restricting airflow increase efficiency in a boosted engine? I am at a loss for what you are stating as facts. I wouldn't use a 2.2 so I can't really help with the thread. I just skimmed cause I saw 3.1:P It read as though increasing airflow in a boosted engine was not money efficient, not...

Re: My sad day

Horrible, sorry to hear man :(

My issue was mostly from the previous owner bottoming out the car on the rear floor pan. It wore away to rectangle shaped holes that rusted and peeled the metal around it.

Which reminds me, buy new rear springs.

Re: 2.2 Turbo, 2.3L Swap or 3.1 Rebuild/Swap?

Well my car is frozen into the ground, so I can either attempt to get it out or I'm stuck with my 2500HD all winter. Upside to that all, I just ordered HPTuners for it, so once I get the hang of it, I can really have some fun with this thing, hopefully make some money on the side and do my Corsica u...

Re: My sad day

Let me tell you, I fixed the holes in my floor by cutting them out with a cutoff wheel, hammering some diamond plate into rough shape, sketchy spot-welding and a metric shit-ton of body seam filler.

Re: Aftermarket Tachometer even exist?

Does the tach get it's signal from the alternator by chance?

I'm pretty sure you gasser guys don't, but the 6.2/6.5 diesels get their tach signal from the alternator and pulley size can cause the tachometer to read off slightly.

Re: What more can i do to my motor

Is this strictly regarding a gasket match, with no blending or additional supportive port work? No. Supportive port work doesn't exist to gasket matched exhaust ports either. You invite reversion, hurt velocity, and reduce flow if you open up the whole port or part of the port. There are only a few...

Re: What more can i do to my motor

Gasket matching the exhaust ports on the heads hurts as well. I have a port mold of what that makes the port runner look like (not good). It goes against general porting methods to do it so why it gets done so often on DIY port jobs is beyond me. Is this strictly regarding a gasket match, with no b...

Re: GM's New CEO

I could see stupid GM doing this. Heck they absolutly killed the Monte Carlo. The Monte Carlo is now a complete Joke....or and a big fat boat. I could see a FWD Camaro 2.2L 4 cylinder OHV LN2 coming out of GM. GM is stupid like that so its understandable. Let me build that 2.2L LN2 and you wouldn't...

Re: GM's New CEO

Truth - pretty sure we are going to be in FWD Mustang's and Camaros soon! So are all cars going to get 10 make up mirrors, mood based Adele-on-demand, Koala-brand Baby changing statons on the rear seats and dry cleaning in the trunk too?  I'm just giving you a hard time for blatant se...
